LANCE A LAUGHING STOCK

Spread The Love

When your name becomes synonymous with the punch line of a joke on late night television, that’s when you know you’ve lost all credibility.  Such is the case of former cycling champion Lance Armstrong, whose doping scandal troubles just seem to be going from bad to worse.

Last week, Armstrong was forced to step down as chairman of the LiveStrong cancer organization he founded.  Several foundation donors and board members have since come forward expressing anger and sadness in how they felt duped by the cyclist, while hoping LiveStrong can continue to live on without their former leader. Armstrong also lost several huge endorsement deals, including Nike and Anheuser-Busch. Now, the international cycling governing body has decided to strip Armstrong of all 7 of his Tour de France championships, and have asked that he return the millions in prize money he won over the years. Armstrong has since edited his social media bio to remove any mention of him ever being a cycling champion.

Despite the overwhelming and damning evidence the USADA says they now have against Armstrong, he has refused to admit guilt or that he lied.  Probably a smart move, since a formal admission could open up a whole new can of worms, including lawsuits and possible jail time.

Nevertheless, the reign of Lance Armstrong as the world’s greatest cyclist is over.  He may have beat cancer, but this doping scandal seems to have finally beaten him!

Mr. BD

This dude has big problems. I heard they're ready to sue him to get back like 10 million he won from cycling. Why do these athletes lie about the drugs? They always get caught in the end anyway. This should be a lesson to anybody thinking they can get away with it. If Lance got caught anybody can get caught.

BD: "Why do these athletes lie about the drugs? They always get caught in the end anyway." So true. But here's my problem with all this: Yes. Lance cheated ..and he did so FOR YEARS. He's won a ton of awards, a lot of money and other prizes and perks which have benefited him greatly. I've got no problem with him being exposed for who he truly is. But he wasn't the only one cheating. Darn near ALL pro cyclists were/are on the stuff. Lance was their *go to guy.* Not ony did he *push* PEDs among other cyclists. He told those cylists how to beat the testing system (it was easy). Btw: Are cycling hierarchies (here and abroad) really going to keep lying, pretending they had not a clue about PEDs use among cyclists!?! (rolling my eyes) But I digress. Lance made the fatal mistake of being too cocky… Read more »
