Count Newark Mayor Cory Booker as yet another supporter for marriage equality.
When asked recently about his stance on putting gay marriage on state ballots, Booker made it very clear that he is strongly opposed to legislating gay “away,” since it would be back door legalized discrimination. “We can not put civil rights to a popular vote.” He also said that his right to marry anyone he chooses should also be the same right of every American and not only a select few.
Marriage equality for all has been picking up a great deal of steam and support lately from some rather unlikely sources. Could it soon be the law of the land?
