Honestly, as I see it: THIS (Hatred of Muslims and Islam by "REAL" Americans) is about so much more than 9/11. Yes Muslims are being targeted now. But the truth is, Muslims are having to endure what Other racial/ethnic and religious groups have endured before them in America. In fact, WHO haven't so-called “REAL” Americans UNjustly targeted and persecuted throughout American history!?! Didn’t the “original” sins of the founding fathers center around their consensus that it was just fine to annihilate Native American Indians in order to steal their land? Why yes it did!Wasn’t the general consensus among REAL Americans that Native American Indians were little more than red skinned “savages”..? Why yes it was! And how about the consensus that it was acceptable to buy AND sell millions of enslaved Africans? Didn't many_if not most "REAL" Americans view Africans, AND their African-American descendents as "less than human"..? You’re darn skippy! What about that legal system known as JIM CROW? And how about those internment camps for innocent Japanese American citizens during WWII???You see my point?The nation coming together for the first year after 9/11 was a wonderful but very rare moment in time. The good feeling felt by most Americans when Obama was elected Presidet? Again a wonderful but very rare moment in time. Now it’s back to business AS USUAL for Haters.Ah but here’s what gives me Hope. This ain’t 1610, 1710, 1810, or 1910. This is 2010. America is Changing as Americans are Changing…for the better (I pray)! And whether Haters accept it or not, their days ARE numbered 🙂
