Lindsey Graham Must Testify, Says Court
Start the popcorn and warm up your TV sets. Lindsey Graham is being forced to testify before a special grand jury.
Politics :
Conservative Republican South Carolina senator and ardent Donald Trump sycophant Lindsey Graham has tried every trick in the book to avoid testifying in a Georgia political scandal. He was ordered to tell all he knew regarding illegal interference in the 2020 election involving Donald Trump and his allies in the state. However, Lindsey ignored Fulton County (Georgia) District Attorney Fani Willis and refused to testify. He even called on his US Supreme Court buddy, Clarence Thomas, to help him delay testifying.
Well, that was then and this is now.
On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that the Supreme Court has removed Thomas’ protections on behalf of Lindsey Graham and ordered the GOP senator to comply and testify. In fact, the high court went so far as to prevent any further legal impediments, paving the way for Graham to appear before a special grand jury on November 17.
Sen. Graham argued that the speech and debate clause in the Constitution shields him from being forced to testify.
However, District Attorney Willis told the justices that “the delay resulting from a stay would be unavoidably harmful” to the grand jury investigation.
Lindsey Graham never wanted to testify because he realized he would be under oath and forced to tell the truth. Now, the GOP senator has run out of options to prevent him from telling a grand jury about 2 phone calls he made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on behalf of Trump to influence results of the election.
During those calls, Graham asked about “reexamining certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia in order to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump,” Willis wrote in her petition that will now compel his testimony.
Graham also “made reference to allegations of widespread voter fraud in the November 2020 election in Georgia, consistent with public statements made by known affiliates of the Trump Campaign,” Willis wrote. She added during a hearing last month that she believes Sen. Graham has valuable information and can provide intricate details regarding coordinated efforts to influence the 2020 election results.
So, “Lindsey Graham… COME ON DOWN! You’re the next contestant on To Tell The Truth!”

Sen. Lindsey Graham ordered before a grand jury.
CNN:
The Supreme Court declined on Tuesday to block a subpoena for Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham to testify in front of an Atlanta special grand jury investigating efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
There were no public dissents from the order.
The South Carolina senator had filed an emergency request asking the justices to halt the testimony – currently scheduled for November 17 – while legal challenges play out.
Graham will now have to appear for testimony, although he will have room to object to certain questions as they come up, meaning the scope of his testimony or responses could be limited.
