Madison Cawthorn: Congressman And Sexual Predator?

Is Congressman Madison Cawthorn a sexual predator?

Politics
Rep. Madison Cawthorn is a first-term Republican lawmaker from North Carolina. At the age of 25, he’s the youngest member of Congress. Following a 2014 automobile accident, he is handicapped and confined to a wheelchair. He is also now accused of being a sexual predator.

According to several women who were classmates of Cawthorn’s during his brief stint as a student at Patrick Henry College in Virginia only a few short years ago, the junior congressman engaged in acts of sexual harassment and misconduct that left several women feeling deeply uncomfortable.

In the words of the women, the patented Madison Cawthorn mode of operation was to invite them on what he referred to as “fun drives.” Once they were out in the wilderness, he would lock the doors and make unwanted sexual advances toward them.

“His MO was to take vulnerable women out on these rides with him in the car, and to make advances,” Caitlin Coulter, one of Cawthorn’s former classmates said earlier this week. When he began to ask about her purity ring and her sexual experiences, she felt something was off and shut down the conversation. That only made matters worse.

“He got really upset. And he whipped the car around and started going back to campus at 70-80 miles an hour on these one-lane roads,” Coulter said. “And it was — it was really scary.”

Other women have also since come forward.

“There was a lot of sexual innuendo,” said Leah Petree, who was nearly caught up in the Madison Cawthorn trickery while she was a student. “It got really uncomfortable walking to and from class. He would yell out, ‘Are you ready to take that fun drive today?’

“That pestering continued. That attention was not what I wanted,” Petree said.

Cawthorn’s reputation was considered so disgusting at his school, that more than 150 former students signed a letter during his run for Congress blasting him for his predatory behavior, writing that his presence “was marked by gross misconduct towards our female peers.”

“During his brief time at the college, Cawthorn established a reputation for predatory behavior. His modus operandi was to invite unsuspecting women on ‘joy rides’ in his white Dodge Challenger. Cawthorn would take young women to secluded areas, lock the doors, and proceed to make unwanted sexual advances,” the letter read, adding that women at the school were warned not to be alone with Cawthorn.

Prior to the election, the former students urged voters in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District “to seriously reevaluate Madison Cawthorn’s candidacy in light of who he really is,” and called on them to “reject (him) at the ballot box.”

In addition to claims of sexual perversion, the Donald Trump-aligned Cawthorn is also considered a douchebag who just happens to be in a wheelchair.

When the BMW X3 SUV he was riding in crashed near Daytona Beach, FL in 2014, his friend, Bradley Ledford, pulled the unconscious Cawthorn from the wreckage and saved his life. However, in a 2017 speech, Cawthorn offered a different account and claimed that Ledford left him “to die in a fiery tomb.” Needless to say, their friendship didn’t survive the congressman’s fabrication of the events.

.

“That statement he made was false. That is not at all what happened. I pulled him out of the car the second that I was able to get out of the car.” – Bradley Ledford

With Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York facing calls to resign following sexual harassment charges attributed to him, it’s likely only a matter of time before Madison Cawthorn succumbs to the same fate and sees his short, political career come to an abrupt end.
