MAGA Mike Could Be A Democrat’s Dream!
After less than a week on the job, he’s already been nicknamed “MAGA Mike” and is being referred to as a Demcrat’s dream.
Politics :
On the surface, newly elected Speaker of the House Mike Johnson may appear as a mild-mannered, meek, and humble civil servant who only wants the best for America and will work across the aisle to get things done. However, in reality, his backstory is much darker than it appears.
The truth is that Speaker Johnson would rather stick his nose in the homes and bedrooms of the American people and legislate morality more than the actual law. He’s also a right-hand man to Donald J. Trump and is so intertwined with the MAGA movement that he’s being called MAGA Mike on Capitol Hill.
The new nickname is so fitting that political analysts are predicting that ‘MAGA Mike’ Johnson will be a Democrat’s dream during next year’s election and that Republicans are already beginning to worry.
According to MSNBC columnist Michael A. Cohen, MAGA Mike will be a “dream candidate” for Democrats to run against in 2024.
“Johnson is a Trump-loving, election-denying, abortion ban-supporting, gay rights-opposing, climate change-rejecting, and conspiracy-believing conservative,” Cohen said. “If House Democrats are smart, they will turn Mike Johnson into a household name — though not in a good way.
“On practically every issue on which House Republicans will be vulnerable in 2024,” he added, “Johnson takes an extreme, maximalist position.”
Cohen may have a very valid point.
Unbeknownst to some, MAGA Mike Johnson wasn’t merely an accomplice in Trump’s efforts to steal the 2020 election; he was, as The New York Times put it, “an architect” of the GOP’s objections to certifying election results in the House of Representatives. According to Politico, he was “the leading voice” in the House “in support of a fateful position: that the GOP should rally around Donald Trump and object to counting electoral votes submitted by at least a handful of states won by Joe Biden.”
As if that wasn’t enough, Johnson also co-sponsored legislation to restrict abortion access at the national level, called homosexuality “sinful and destructive,” and promoted the white nationalist “great replacement” theory.
These are all hot-button issues with Democrats that should motivate liberal-leaning and moderate voters and get them to the polls.
“With a razor-thin five-seat majority, Republicans already faced a difficult path to holding on to the House,” Cohen said. “Democrats are already near-guaranteed to pick up a seat in Alabama after the Supreme Court forced the state to create a second, majority-black district. Similar rulings in Georgia and ongoing cases in Louisiana and Florida could add another 2-3 seats to the Democratic side of the ledger.
“So, with all else being equal, Republicans have a very real chance of entering the 2024 campaign season essentially tied with Democrats,” Cohen added. “Now their most vulnerable members, in districts won by Biden, face the added challenge of having to defend their votes in support of Johnson for speaker.”
Take MAGA Mike’s Trump connection along with his religious bigotry. Combine the 3-ring circus Republicans displayed this year in their horrific, weeks-long House Speaker fight. Then, mix in the very real possibility that Donald Trump could be convicted of myriad crimes by spring — and Democrats could enter 2024 with a huge smile on their faces.

House Speaker ‘MAGA Mike’ Johnson: a Democrat’s Dream
Yahoo News: House Speaker Mike Johnson turned heads on Monday when a website hosting his podcast and church sermons suddenly vanished. Still, Johnson hasn’t been able to completely scrub his prior social media presence, with some evidence of his lectures still floating around online, including a three-hour sermon organized by his wife’s ministry that blasts the newly elected’s Christian fundamentalism. The contents of his evangelical musings—which he apparently wants to hide—offer revealing details about the little-known congressman, including that he doesn’t really believe in democracy. “By the way, the United States is not a democracy. Do you know what a democracy is? Two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner. You don’t want to be in a democracy. Majority rule: not always a good thing,” Johnson said at the First Baptist Church of Haughton, Louisiana, in 2019. Johnson has also attacked the idea of social services, claiming that the… Read more »
