“I saw that comment from Drew Brees and wanted to throw up. Drew and people like him are part of the reason everybody is out there marching. is out there marching.”

BD, I had the same reaction. I was shocked and literally wanted to throw up!

Not just because of how callous, insensitive and Wrong much of his comments were. But because it was DREW BREES saying it!?! ….someone I truly HAD respect for mostly because of his off-the-field actions related to his philanthropic contributions in communities of Color in New Orleans, after Katrina.

And now I SEE. Drew Brees and people like Drew Brees Are -and have been-a large part of the problem when it comes to effectively addressing issues of “Race,” Systemic Racism and racial/social Injustices here in America. No matter though.

Change IS coming to America!

Lisa Murkowski of Alaska broke with many of her Republican colleagues Thursday, applauding an op-ed by General James Mattis that condemned President Donald Trump’s actions this week.

“When I saw General Mattis’ comments yesterday I felt like perhaps we are getting to a point where we can be more honest with the concerns that we might hold internally and have the courage of our own convictions to speak up,” Murkowksi said on Capitol Hill. The comments were a stark contrast to many of her other Republican colleagues on Capitol Hill who argued that while Mattis had a right to disagree with Trump, they didn’t agree with Mattis’ assessment.”I was really thankful. I thought General Mattis’ words were true, and honest and necessary and overdue,” Murkowski said. “And, I have been struggling for the right words, and I was encouraged a couple of nights ago when I was able to read what President Bush had written. And I found that to be empowering for me as one leader.”

Murkowski, a Republican who has demonstrated an independent voting streak in the Senate, told reporters Thursday that she was still “struggling” with a decision about whether she would support Trump in November.”I am struggling with it. I have struggled with it for a long time I think you know that. I didn’t support the President in the initial election, and I work hard to try to make sure that I’m able to represent my state well that I’m able to work with any administration and any president,” Murkowski said. “He is our duly elected President I will continue to work with him. I will continue to work with this administration but I think right now as we are all struggling to find ways to express the words that need to be expressed appropriately, questions about who I’m going to vote for not going to vote for I think are distracting at the moment.”

Hey Truth I saw that comment from Drew Brees and wanted to throw up. Drew and people like him are part of the reason everbody is out there marching. None of this has anything to do with a flag and kneeling has never meant disrespect to anything. The only thing being disrespected is black lives. I think his apology is all a publicity stunt to save face and I did not buy any of it. His mentality has not changed in just a day and it is people like him that will keep us marching until we get respect.

A lot of other military and Repubs are going to start coming out against Trump in tine for the election. Then I turned on the news today and saw it was already happening. I would like to see it all come down on him hard from all ends. We have to bring this fool down.

Drew Brees set off a firestorm yesterday afternoon into the evening and into this morning regarding his ignorant-azz comment about not supporting “disrespecting the flag” by taking a knee (Colin Kapernick)…(sigh)!.

Welp the backlash from here and around the world has been fierce because WE all know that “kneeling” was NEVER about “disrespecting” the flag. It’s always been about Peacefully protesting racial injustice, especially in our Criminal Justice system.

Suffice it to say that Drew Brees is so unaware, and so ignorant of Black life in America (even Now…after George Floyd’s death) that he didn’t SEE the firestorm coming that he set off.

This morning he’s issued a lengthily apology within the last half hour but this time – in light of ALL the H*LL that most of white America is now finally becoming aware of, regrading racial injustices particularly towards Black Americans, Drew has done some real damage to himself!
