McCain Gets NO APOLOGY From Trump!

Spread The Love

Surprise! The White House is not only refusing to apologize for an aide’s crass remark about the gravely ill Sen. John McCain, but is also now turning the tables to make itself appear as the true victim.

McCain Apology
Kelly Sadler

Last week, White House press aide Kelly Sadler said that Sen. McCain’s opposition to CIA nominee Gina Haspel “doesn’t matter” because “he’s dying anyway.” Soon thereafter, political leaders from both sides of the aisle were quick to denounce the remark and called for an instant apology. Additionally, McCain’s daughter, Meghan, said that not only was she waiting for an apology but also news of Sadler’s firing for her deep lack of sensitivity.

Hopefully, Meghan McCain has not been holding her breath. Not only did Donald Trump blatantly refuse to apologize, but he also refused to fire Sadler. Instead, the Deflector-In-Chief declared that the statement was “a joke” and that the media should be focusing on the more serious issue of a “leak” problem inside The White House.

Yes, instead of being polite and apologizing to a family already grieving the imminent death of their patriarch, “The Donald” followed his trusty playbook and deflected by claiming that HE was the victim and not the McCain family.

“Leakers are traitors and cowards, and we will find out who they are!” Trump tweeted on Monday, proving that he remains under the constant delusion that he can do no wrong and that everybody else is the real problem. He is not focused on what was said, but rather that people found out about it.

The issue here is similar to an example of Trump cheating on his wife and her finding out about it. In his mind, the crime is not that he cheated but that someone told his wife. Or, in other words, his morals and standards are all crisscrossed.

“If you’re a public figure and if you’re working in the White House you should expect everything you’re saying in any context to be leaked,” Meghan McCain said. “If someone said something that egregious and intense on this show backstage, I’d expect it to be on The Daily Mail in eight seconds.”

Sadly, that sort of thought process doesn’t compute for Donald Trump. He believes that he and his people should be able to say and do anything they want and that no one should ever dare question it.

Oh, the life of being a King… in his own mind!

Yes indeed. That sums it up in a nutshell.

But setting aside Faux News (a right-wing propaganda tv station) Here’s what I don’t get about the American mainstream news media, especially cable news….what’s with all the supposed outrage from CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC & CBS? Get.Real. Since when has decorum and human decency been a hallmark of Trump or ANYONE associated with that ignorant and hateful man!?! In the early days of the Trump campaign, Trump himself was the first to speak very disparagingly about McCain: “He’s not a war hero. He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.” – Chicago Tribune That from a 5X draft dodger – and the American news media has given that same guy a 24/7 global platform to spew that kind of venom and so much more since day one (and Trump supporters love it). Add to that – Trump’s belief that he should never apologize to… Read more »

Of course he is not going to apologize because he doesn’t think he does anything wrong. He only wants things reported about him a certain way which is why he calls anything bad “fake news”. For this story to get out to the press means he was in the wrong. That is why it’s fake and he wants to blame a leaker instead of his own staff.

Mr.BD

On a side note I was talking with some relatives about Trump on Mothers Day. We had all went to church then afterward they were talking about the anti Christ. The discussion then got on how the bible says a whole lot of people will be fooled by the anti Christ and will really believe they are doing right but they are really following evil. That is when Trump’s name came up. Because a whole lot of people are following him and he can do no wrong no matter what it is. Most of us see the truth but so many are blinded by him. We were not saying Trump is the anti Christ but it sure is strange how stupid and fooled some people are when it comes to him.

Would’ve loved to have been able to join in that discussion with you and your family BD. It was vibrant conversation, I’m sure.

Honestly, I can see how some people may consider Trump to be the anti-Christ (he certainly seems evil enough). But here’s the main reason I don’t view him as such. The guy is a flaming dim-wit. There ain’t an intelligent spec to be found anywhere within his entire body.

Just an empty, vacuous blob of brain-matter between his ears. That’s it.

CNN:
People seem surprised, for some reason, that the White House has not issued a public apology to Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain.

But they shouldn’t be. If there’s an implied mantra of President Donald Trump’s political life, it is this: Don’t apologize. For anything. Ever.

In this case, it would be for an aide’s leaked comment during a private meeting that McCain’s opposition to CIA nominee Gina Haspel doesn’t matter because McCain, who is suffering from brain cancer, is dying anyway.

It was an obnoxious comment about an American hero.

But it was not apology-worthy in Trump’s White House. In the pantheon of Trumpian insults, it barely registers.

He didn’t apologize during the 2016 campaign when he made fun of McCain for being a prisoner of war. Why apologize now?
