“Trump Debases Our Country”

Sen. Bob Corker told reporters Tuesday morning {today} he regretted voting for Donald Trump for president. He said the “debasement of our nation” is what Trump will be remembered for. Corker also said his governing model is to “divide.” Trump and Corker also got in a Twitter tumble this morning following remarks Corker made on morning shows. (Tweets below.)

Trump is scheduled to speak to Republicans at a lunch on Capitol Hill this afternoon.

“I think world leaders are very aware that much of what he says is untrue. Certainly, people here are because these things are provably untrue, I mean, they are factually incorrect and people know the difference. I don’t know why he lowers himself to such a low, low standard, and debases our country in a way that he does, but he does,” Corker told CNN’s Manu Raju this morning before he faced a gang of reporters a few minutes later.

“Do you think he’s a role model to children in the United States,” CNN’s Raju asked.

John McCain could’ve pulled a “Trump” and chickened out of serving his country 5 TIMES during the Vietnam War. Instead he chose to serve And after McCain was taken prisoner, he was offered an early release out of respect for who he was – the son and grandson of 2 highly decorated military men. Instead McCain chose to remain a POW for 5 and 1/2 long years – along with other American POWs. During that time he endured tortuous treatment which exacerbated very serious war-related injuries he had suffered to his right leg and both arms, when the aircraft bomber he was flying was shot down by a Vietnamese surface-to-air missile on Oct. 26, 1967.
