"He's gotta go."I agree BD! In fact, I posted yesterday that I felt he should've resigned YESTERDAY!The President has now indeed relieved McChrystal of his Command.Gen. Petraeus (the co-designer of the current "COIN" strategy is now in Command. Good call Mr. President! The repubs will have a mighty hard time raising h*ll about this choice. However, if things continue to go badly in Afghanistan, the President WILL have to rethink that COIN strategy_I don't care who designed it!

What I don't understand is how is this man a 4 star general if he hasn't learned yet about dicipline and respect for your senior commander, meaning the president?? He's gotta go.

Whatever the President decides about McChrystal, the truth is, the COIN strategy in Afghanistan_the strategy that McChrystal HIMSELF designed AND actively engaged in a bit of PR hardball to get the President to sign onto) IS FAILING. No “honest” observer can conclude otherwise.Both, Pres. Obama AND Gen. McChrystal OWN the war in Afghanistan and TIME is running out. The Afghans don’t want “Us” there. And most Americans are FINALLY fed-up with fighting WARS with NO END in sight to the sacrificing of blood, lives, and treasure. But frankly: There doesn’t seem to be a CLEARLY defined plan as to how to achieve sum modicum of "success" in Afghanistan so that we can get outta there in a responsible and timely manner_!?! Meanwhile, Americans are continuing to have to deal with the reality of HIGH unemployment (to say nothing of several OTHER major concerns most Americans want to see addressed). At the same time, the largest environmental disaster in U.S. is still unfolding. I’m thinking: It’s TIME for the President to RETHINK our "COIN" strategy_period.

LOL the shyt definitely hit the fan on this one. I expect Mccrystal to walk into the Oval office today with his tail between his legs and Obama lights right into him. Then I think Obama should make him keep his job and make him his whipping boy. Quitting would be too easy for this clown. He really needs a good old fashinon whoopin. Now go get me a switch
