Megan Markle And British Royal Racism
Megan Markle has been verbally vilified by British and global media. When is someone going to say the quiet part out loud and admit that it’s all because of the color of her skin?
Lifestyle :
When Queen Elizabeth of England died recently, much of the stories and commentary centered around Megan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, and her every move. Was Markle ordered not to come to the bedside of the dying queen? Was Markle giving a side-eye to Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate during the funeral? Why has Markle turned Prince Harry against his own family?
Since the bombshell interview of Prince Harry and Megan Markle conducted by Oprah Winfrey — where both Harry and Megan mentioned extreme cases of racism by members of the royal family against the biracial Markle — Brits, in particular, have been up in arms that someone would dare expose their royals as a despicable bunch of people. Too bad anyone who’s following this road of thought is missing the boat and the main point.
Instead of the public discussing how awful Megan Markle is for turning Harry away from his family and what they need to do to get back into the good graces of the monarchy, where is the discussion about the very real possibility of extreme racism within the royal family??
According to Harry and Megan during the Oprah interview, an unnamed member of the royal family blatantly asked if the couple’s expected baby would be dark-skinned and have wooly hair (read: would they look too black). Not a single mention of this cringe-worthy comment or other examples of royal racism has made a dent in the media since the interview aired.
Instead, the media is currently discussing how King Charles III intends to withhold giving Harry and Megan’s son and daughter the royal monikers of “prince” and “princess” — and will only grant the children royal highness status if Harry and Megan cancel their tell-all book designed to expose racism within the royal family.
According to Charles, he wants to first know that he can “trust” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before he deems their children worthy of royalty.
Interestingly, much of the public has sided with King Charles, Prince William, and other members of the royal family. They want Harry and Megan to simply remain quiet about “family business” (racism) and simply go through life grinning and bearing it. Or, in other words, they’d rather Megan agree to submit to a lifetime of racism and misery behind palace doors rather than outright acknowledging it, exposing it, and ending it.
Let’s call the endless Megan Markle scrutiny what it is. It’s difficult not to see the racism or to explain away the vitriol for Markle—the droning, relentless persecution—as anything but racial prejudice. Meghan’s behavior is in line with the Firm’s expectations for her. Not to be too glib in the face of what’s shaping up to be a campaign of rampant discrimination, but after vocal concern about the coloring of her kids, she bore two light-skinned offspring. What more do these people want? I wish the racism was elevated and sly and hidden and insidious, but it’s parading in plain sight and alarming in its boldness. Any non-white U.K. residents felt that all-too-familiar twinge of hostility as #MeghanMarkleGoHome trended.

According to the British press, Charles might be the new ruler of England, but he’s not the least bit opposed to “skipping out on his grandchildren if his estranged son and his drama-plagued daughter-in-law don’t shape up.”
If you read between the lines, you’ll realize Charles is really saying that unless Harry and Megan shut up and just take whatever it is that made them flee in the first place, the royal family will hold a grudge and continue to make them monsters in the media. Oh, and despite British law, they’ll also NOT give their children royal titles.
Is anyone finally ready to talk about this, the real problem??

King gives Harry, Megan Markle, an ultimatum.
This is what they are saying about Megan Markle in London: LONDON — Palace aides take revenge on the “Difficult Duchess” in a second mind-blowing book detailing life with the Duchess of Sussex. Now more than ever, Harry and Meghan are to be held up to public scrutiny — but as ever in the world of the two ex-royals, it’s not their fault. Why is this happening now? Simply, people are speaking and don’t care what they say about the one-time royals. It all centers on Meghan, really, because as many people know, Harry — prior to meeting Ms. Markle — was a lovable oaf at times who charmed the public with antics, loved being in the army and was seeking someone to love. If this is to be believed, Meghan, like a missile, according to two books now, sought out the duke with all the finesse that the Terminator… Read more »
