MIAMI’S MYSTERIOUS SANDBAR PIANO
We’ve all heard of a piano at the Sand’s Hotel bar in Las Vegas. But have you ever heard of a piano on a sandbar in the waters off the coast of Miami?
A few days ago a grand piano mysteriously appeared on a sandbar in Biscayne Bay, prompting all sorts of theories as to how a piano could make its way onto a sandbar in the middle of the ocean.
Well, a filmmaker claimed credit for hauling it to the sandbar on a barge, in an effort to portray the death of art, although he could provide no proof. But it made for a great 2 day story.
Now that the mystery seems solved regarding the broken down shell of a piano, it’s unclear what will become of the former instrument. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, they are not responsible for moving such items. And the U.S. Coast Guard won’t get involved unless the piano becomes a hazard to navigation.
Will the Sandbar piano become permanent and the new must-see tourist attraction while in South Florida? Only time will tell!
