Minnesota Preps For Same-Sex Marriage
Minnesota’s Republican congresswoman Peggy Scott is very sad today. Why, you ask? Because Minnesota is on the precipice of approving same-sex marriage and she doesn’t like it, that’s why!
Scott, who belongs to a Christian evangelical church and is serving a 3rd term in the Minnesota House of Representatives, literally wept after the House voted 75-59 last week in favor of a same-sex marriage bill. Interestingly, the vote came only 6 months after voters defeated a GOP attempt to include anti-gay discrimination into their state constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

“My heart breaks for Minnesota,” Scott said through a sea of tears as she stood on the House floor after the vote. “It’s a divisive issue that divides our state. It’s not what we needed to be doing at this time. We want to come together for the state of Minnesota, we don’t want to divide it.”
The bill is set for a vote in the Senate today, where it is expected to easily pass. Minnesota’s Democratic governor Mark Dayton said he will sign the bill into law immediately once it passes the senate, making Minnesota the 12th state to approve marriage rights for same-sex couples, and the 1st midwestern state to do so legislatively.
I can think of no group that has done more damage to the perception of Christianity than Right-wing evangelicals. They tend to be some of the most hateful, self-righteous, paranoid, ignorant, liars, hypocrits, racists and bigots you've ever seen. To say nothing of their for LOVE for American-led Wars and GUNS.
Wow. I mean honestly. What a really strange and pathetic lot..smh.
Congrats to Minnesota for standing up for Equality.
