Missouri Allows Carrying Guns
Without A Permit
Do you like carrying guns but don’t have a permit to legally carry one in public? Â Well, go to Missouri — you don’t need a permit.

Current Events
Yes, you read correctly… Missouri has now become the latest state to allow residents to carry a firearm without a permit, or to even need a moment of training to operate one. Beginning January 1, 2017, gun owners will be allowed to walk around the State of Missouri carrying a gun as free as a bird. No license required. Now, you can’t drive a car, truck, bus, or motorcycle without proper training and the proper license, but a gun? Go right ahead! Â No training, permit, or license necessary.
Oh, and just to add a bit of icing to the cake, Missouri also passed (during the same session) a controversial “stand your ground” provision, which will allow residents to use deadly force on public property if they perceive a threat.  Here’s how that might work:
Let’s say you’re walking through a city park in Missouri and you see someone looking at you “funny.” Â Well, you can simply pull out your unlicensed gun and shoot them — and the entire melee will all be perfectly legal.
The new laws were passed last Wednesday, as Moms Demand Action (a branch of the New York-based organization Everytown for Gun Safety) did everything within their power to stop lawmakers in their tracks.  However, the “Moms” were no match for the ultra-powerful National Rifle Association, which was also present at the Missouri State Capitol to make certain that the new gun laws sailed through unscathed.

Missouri resident and pro-gun enthusiast Kirk Bradley discussed his opinion regarding the new law.
“Got a 38, got a 9 mm, I got a 22 handgun, got a 9mm, and then I’ve got a 22,” Bradley said. Â He also has a trunk full of guns, and a permit to carry each of them.
“I went through that course, after that I had to get a background check,” Â said Bradley.
However, without a required permit, he worries guns will get into the wrong hands.
“They’re gonna have people carrying a firearm that shouldn’t be carrying a firearm,” Â Bradley added.
Gun shop owner and training operator Nick Newman agreed.
“It’ll probably increase our sales because I think there are some people that want to carry and for some reason didn’t wanna get a CCW permit,” Newman said, adding that he doesn’t agree with gun laws that don’t require people to be trained before they carry a gun.
“It’s kinda like driving a car, we all drive a car but we have to get a permit and understand what the rules are first, I kinda feel the same way about a CCW permit, it would be a good idea to have a basic level of instruction or go through a course first,” Â Newman said.
Despite strong push-back, the Missouri lawmakers, the NRA, and illegal gun owners all won the day.  The Senate voted 24-6 to allow the bill provisions, while the House voted 112-41 in favor.
Missouri now becomes the 9th state to allow permit-free gun carry, joining Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Kansas, Alabama, West Virginia, Vermont, and Maine.

Under this new rule, you have to go through the same background process as before to buy a firearm. Plus, most counties have laws that require a permit to carry a firearm. So, the only places you will be allowed to conceal a firearm without a permit are in counties/municipalities that do not have these laws. Before putting blanket statements out, perhaps you should do some research to ensure the "news" you are reporting is true.
