MISSPOKE: Trump Tries To Walk Back Russia Damage

Spread The Love

After selling out the United States intelligence community on Monday in favor of Russian president Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump was beaming with pride from his “kiss-ass” rendezvous with Vladi. However, now that he’s back on US soil and realizes that a majority of Americans are calling his performance with Putin an epic embarrassment, Trump is offering what he believes to be a valid excuse: “I Misspoke!”

Oh, Donald — you can’t be serious (regrettably, HE IS!).

Politics
Yes, 48 hours after saying (for the millionth time) “I don’t see any reason why it would be Russia” that interfered in the 2016 presidential election (and he knows this because Putin said so), Trump is brazenly backpedaling on his words.

“In a key sentence in my remarks, I said the word ‘would’ instead of ‘wouldn’t,’ ” Trump claimed on Tuesday. “The sentence should have been: ‘I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be Russia,’ ” he added. “Sort of a double negative.”

Trump went on to say: “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia’s meddling in the 2016 election took place.” Then, absolutely unable to help himself, Trump diverted from his prepared remarks and added: “It could be other people also.  A lot of people out there.”

So, after a year of roaring about no collusion between himself and Putin and how the Russian leader had assured him he didn’t meddle in the US election, “The Donald’s” best excuse for why he kissed up to Vladimir Putin is to claim that he misspoke??  We are all now supposed to believe that after heaping a bushel of praise onto Putin and after admitting he doubted his own intelligence community’s findings, Trump really meant to say ‘I don’t see why it WOULDN’T be Russia’???

Um… Donald… Americans outside of your fanatical base are not the dumb idiots you think we are.

Misspoke

CNN’s Gloria Borger said Trump’s “I Misspoke” statement — which was concocted by aides who feared mass resignations from inside the intelligence community — made “The Donald” appear as if he were a hostage being forced to read words into a camera he didn’t mean.

Well, Donald, we’re smarter than you know.  We aren’t for one second buying the “I Misspoke” excuse.  Besides, if you had actually mixed up your words, it wouldn’t have taken you 32 hours to correct the “error.”

The fact is, you said what you meant and you meant what you said — and you seem to be the last on the planet willing to accept that we all know better!

Another spot on post DJ, point by point – especially your assessment that this pathetic excuse of a man is “absolutely unable to help himself”…he simply must continue to double-down on Stupid. And you’re right of course- no sane person with a spec of intelligence bought that pathetic attempt at a “walk-back” yesterday. The excuse was beyond pitiful and he certainly didn’t mean a word of it anyway. (SEE: his body language)

Not to mention the likelihood that at some time today he’s probably going to walk-back his walk-back.

Lord. What a colossal mess We have on our hands…smh..

Btw- George Will has an opinion piece in the Washington Post today titled:

“This sad, embarrassing wreck of a man”

Excerpts:
“America’s child president had a play date with a KGB alumnus, who surely enjoyed providing day care. It was a useful, because illuminating, event: Now we shall see how many Republicans retain a capacity for embarrassment.”

“In Helsinki, the president who bandies the phrase “America First” put himself first, as always, and America last, behind President Vladimir Putin’s regime.”

“Precision is not part of Trump’s repertoire: He speaks English as though it is a second language that he learned from someone who learned English last week. So, it is usually difficult to sift meanings from Trump’s word salads. But in Helsinki he was, for him, crystal clear about feeling no allegiance to the intelligence institutions that work at his direction and under leaders he chose.”

LOL first off the baby photo of Trump making a boo boo is funny as h*ll. But the video from Erin Burnett breaks it all down to the pathetic mess it is. Trump really has no problem lying through his teeth. And the worst part is in his mind he things we are all going to believe his lies. I am crossing my fingers this is the mess that starts turning Repubs and his die hard supporters against him.

Well if that doesn’t my friend…perhaps THIS will:

“In Face Of Protectionism, EU And Japan Sign Huge Open-Trade Deal” -NPR

Just saw the news reported on MSNBC online. Clearly the “real” leaders of the world are sending a UNIFIED message -they reject Trump’s nonsense, Protectionism. Expect to see more huge Open-trade deals between countries (minus the U.S.) in the coming future.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The White House denied that U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Russia was no longer targeting the United States, saying his answer “no” was about taking questions not about potential interference in U.S. elections.

Asked by reporters before a Cabinet meeting whether Moscow was still targeting the United States, Trump shook his head and said, “No.”

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders told reporters at a news briefing hours later that the president’s “no” was not in answer to a reporter’s question, “Is Russia still targeting the U.S.?” Sanders said Trump meant he did not want to answer questions.

“The president … was saying ‘No’ to answering questions,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said at a news briefing later.
