Poor Mike Lindell and his MyPillow Company. Literally!

On Monday, right-wing conspiracy theorist, MAGA/Trump enthusiast, and inventor of the MyPillow franchise Mike Lindell reluctantly admitted that due to a loss of more than $100 million in annual revenue related to his support of Donald Trump, he and his company have gone nearly broke. Lindell said he initially “asked the public to buy stock in his business, Lindell TV, to gain back the millions he spent in an effort to overturn the 2020 election,” but no one was interested. Now, after several big-box stores (Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and others) stopped selling his prized pillow, he’s been left with no alternative but to auction tons of “surplus equipment” just to make money.
Oh, say it ain’t so.
Yes, Mike ‘MyPillow’ Lindell gave Donald Trump millions to fight the results of the 2020 presidential election. He then became one of Trump’s most outspoken fanatics and openly made slanderous statements left and right against people and companies on behalf of ‘The Donald.’ Well, too bad for Mike Lindell, but America happens to have laws against libelous slander — and people and companies came forward to use those laws to sue Lindell for his reckless remarks.
One such company was Dominion Voting Systems, who said Lindell defamed the company as part of his campaign to paint the 2020 presidential election as “rigged.”
Although he’s still drinking the Trump Kool-Aid, Lindell acknowledges that his support of Trump and the many lawsuits levied against him have negatively impacted his sales.
According to the Star Tribune, “the ongoing controversy over” Lindell’s false 2020 election claims “forced major shifts in his business.”
“After some shopping networks dropped his products, the company has moved to direct sales, shooting new television commercials and trying to boost its presence through email marketing, radio spots, and direct mailing,” the newspaper reported.
“It was a massive, massive cancellation,” Lindell said of his almost overnight drop in business. “We lost $100 million from attacks by the box stores, the shopping networks, the shopping channels, all of them did cancel culture on us.”
Or, in other words, the moment the MyPillow CEO opened his big mouth and joined Donald Trump in spewing lies that the 2020 election was stolen, stores and shopping networks realized he was a whacko and ended their business deals with him.
Fast-forward to today and Mike Lindell has succumbed to scraping the bottom of the barrel and counting coins just to make ends meet.
In order to raise money in the hopes of salvaging his company, Lindell has taken to a website called K-Bid to auction off more than 850 MyPillow items such as “sewing machines, industrial fabric spreaders, forklifts, and even desks and chairs.” He has also begun to sublease manufacturing space at his plant in Minnesota which the company no longer needs (due to poor sales).
“If the box stores ever came back we could have it if we needed it, but we don’t need that,” he said. “It affected a lot of things when you lose that big of a chunk [of revenue].”
There’s been “hardly anything” for some workers to do, Lindell added.
So, it looks like Donald Trump has done it again. He took Lindell’s money, used him, then left him broke, scrambling for cash, and looking like a loser.
