NAVY OFFICER OUT OVER GAY VIDEOS
The controversial “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military policy has only been officially dead less than 2 weeks. But that didn’t stop one naval officer from a series of anti-gay videos which have now cost him his job.
The U.S. Navy has announced that Captain Owen Honors was relieved of his duties as commander of the USS Enterprise aircraft carrier, after a variety of YouTube videos he produced and starred in were found to denigrate gay and lesbian military personnel.
The Virginian-Pilot newspaper revealed its finding of at least 3 edited video clips made by Honors while he was an executive officer in the U.S. Navy. The videos were purportedly designed to entertain sailors during deployment, and included anti-gay slurs, simulated masturbation and two women showering together.
Captain Honors showed “profound lack of good judgment and professionalism,” said Admiral John C. Harvey Jr., commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia. “I have lost confidence in his ability to command the Enterprise.”
Removal from command is effectively the end of an officer’s career. For his incredible lack of judgment from a naval officer, Honors has now been reassigned (demoted) to an administrative desk job.

Anyway: Here's what really pisses me off: Those videos have been used a "moral boosters" throughout the Navy for at least the past 4 years. And yet supposedly NONE of this man's *superiors" were aware of the videos?! Yeah right. Spare Me.It just goes to show just how pervasive homo-bullying and and other forms of bigotry are widespread within the U.S. Navy..if not the entire Military Industrial Complex. DADT didn't do jack in preventing gay and lesbian soldiers from having to deal with this kind of Ugly sh*t and probably on a daily basis…smh.
