NBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND
The NBA’s biggest names met in Orlando over the weekend for the annual NBA ALL-STAR GAME.
The weekend kicked off with a Friday night “Rising Stars” challenge, featuring L.A. Clippers star Blake Griffin and basketball sensation Jeremy “Linsanity” Lin from the New York Knicks. Former All-Stars and current TNT analysts Shaquille O’Neil and Charles Barkley coached the challenge, which was won by Team Chuck, 146-133.
Saturday was the traditional 3-point and Slam Dunk competition. Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love won the 3-point contest, while Utah Jazz forward Jeremy Evans took the Slam Dunk prize.
But the main event was Sunday’s All-Star game, which featured Carmelo Anthony (New York), Derrick Rose (Chicago) and Dwight Howard (Orlando) for the East Team, as well as Chris Paul (L.A. Clippers), Kobe Bryant (L.A. Lakers) and Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City) for the West Team.
In the end, the West Team came up winners (again), with Kevin Durant named MVP of the game. The final score was 152-149.
