Ever hear the old saying “The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions?” Well that couldn’t have been more timely last week at the NBC Employee Cafeteria at Rockefeller Center in New York City.
Questlove, who plays drums for The Roots on THE LATE LATE SHOW with JIMMY FALLON, snapped a photo of a menu sign posted in the NBC Cafeteria. The sign listed several items on a “Specials” menu, including Fried Chicken, Collard Greens and Jalapeno Cornbread, among other soul food staples. But what Questlove found most interesting, is that NBC was offering the meal as their way to honor BLACK HISTORY MONTH! Huh???Well, needless to say, not long after the photo hit the internet, NBC’s VP of Communications, Kevin Goldman, posted on Twitter with the following tweet: “The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it.” Interesting!
This is funny and sad all at the same time. NBC should be ashamed.
