Remember those controversial Airport Body Scanners from last holiday season, that put your naked junk on display for TSA officials to gawk (and maybe chuckle) at? Well, they’re going bye-bye!
Just in time for the upcoming travel season, the TSA has replaced the “naked” x-ray machines at Boston Logan International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, Chicago O’Hare, Orlando International and JFK in New York with a new millimeter-wave scanner. Now, instead of seeing what you look like stepping out of the shower, the TSA will merely see a cartoon-like image of you instead.
Still, all is not lost for the now defunct “naked” machines. The TSA says they will move the machines to smaller airports, as a replacement for older and outdated ones.
