New Ricin Suspect Arrested
After originally arresting the wrong man, authorities now believe they have correctly identified the person responsible for mailing a ricin-laced letter to President Obama.
The FBI has charged 41-year-old Everett Dutschke with mailing the poisonous letters to the president and to GOP Sen. Roger Wicker. Originally, part-time Elvis impersonator Kevin Curtis was arrested, however he was released last week and cleared of all charges once the FBI determined they had no physical evidence to support what was only circumstantial evidence.
Dutschke was arrested after authorities discovered he had been feuding with Curtis and attempted to frame Curtis as the perpetrator.
The charges against Dutschke include knowingly developing, producing, stockpiling, transferring, acquiring, retaining and possessing a biological agent for use as a weapon, and with attempting, threatening and conspiring to do the same. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
