WHOOPEE!! and CONGRATULATIONS!! Apparently, there’s no more COVID in Texas — at least according to Gov. Greg Abbott.

Yes, folks, despite the COVID-19 virus continuing to wreak havoc and take lives across the entire globe, the State of Texas has magically become a “No COVID Zone.” So, how did they do it, you ask? Simple. The governor simply decided and poof, COVID was gone.
On Tuesday, despite warnings from The White House, the CDC, and every medical mind on the face of the planet, Gov. Abbott announced that he has decided there is no more COVID in Texas. He rescinded all mandates for residents to wear masks, he declared all schools and businesses permanently open for business at full capacity, and he ruled that the need for isolation and social distancing as well as other means of standard safety measures have come to an abrupt end.
“It is now time to open Texas 100 percent,” Abbott said, adding that he believes “state mandates are no longer needed.”
His words are in direct conflict with those of the imminent epidemiologist, Dr. Anthony Fauci, who believes (aside from a vaccine) that masks and social distancing are the #1 protection against the coronavirus. It’s also possible Abbott’s edict is meant to deflect criticism from the recent Texas power failures.
The rush by Texas to “return to normal” was immediately and expectedly criticized as lunacy.
“I am really worried about reports that more states are rolling back the exact public health measures we have recommended to protect people from Covid-19. Please hear me clearly. At this level of cases with variants spreading, we stand to completely lose the hard-earned ground we have gained,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
“I know people are tired; they want to get back to life, to normal. But we’re not there yet,” she added.
“This fight is far from over,” President Biden said in response to the alleged ‘No More COVID In Texas’ news. “I urge all Americans, please keep washing your hands, stay socially distanced, wear masks.”
Interestingly, Texas is not the only state to decide it has grown bored with the pandemic and is willing to risk lives and everything else with it just to pretend life is normal again.
On Tuesday, Gov. Tate Reeves of Mississippi also announced that he, too, is ending his state’s mask mandate, effective immediately.

“It’s time,” Reeves said.
Coincidentally, both Abbott and Reeves are Republicans and were staunch supporters of Donald ‘COVID Is Fake News’ Trump.

I have few thoughts on this madness and I’ll with this……
When I heard Abbot announce this ridicules news yesterday I immediately thought to myself.. “and THIS is why the South lost the Civil War.” Way too many really really dumb people in positions of power willing to sacrifice the lives of so many people to try to fulfill the Evil wishes of THEIR masters (slave owners and other big business owners).
Like I said…..Madness. Just pure madness.
