In perhaps one of the best and brightest ideas ever invented (sarcasm), all North Carolina schools in Madison County have figured out how to end school shootings for once and for all: just put a loaded AR-15 in every single school.

The North Carolina schools witnessed the rampage during the Ulvalde, TX shooting massacre earlier this year and bought into the old Republican/NRA adage that the only way to stop a shooter with a gun is with more guns.
“We were able to put an AR-15 rifle and safes in all of our schools in the county,” Sheriff Buddy Harwood proudly told the Asheville Citizen-Times. “We’ve also got breaching tools to go into those safes. We’ve got extra magazines with ammo in those safes.”
Madison County Schools Superintendent Will Hoffman agreed and said that the system’s administration has been in regular contact with Sheriff Harwood and the rest of the police department about school security.
“Our partnership with law enforcement is a critical part of our daily preparations. We have to be vigilant and prepared for any possibility at any time. Our students have to feel safe in order to be safe,” Hoffman said.
Harwood acknowledged that people might have concerns about AR-15s being located in schools. However, he argued that the decision would make everything safer in the long run.
“I want the parents of Madison County to know we’re going to take every measure necessary to ensure our kids are safe in this school system. If my parents, as a whole, want me to stand at that door with that AR strapped around that officer’s neck, then I’m going to do whatever my parents want as a whole to keep our kids safe.”
So, there you have it, folks. You can rest assured and sleep easy knowing that at least in North Carolina schools, a 60-year-old school teacher with zero gun training will have a military-grade AR-15 at her disposal — and will be spraying the hallways with bullets anytime the threat of an active shooter ever presents itself. Now, if she happens to shoot your child by accident due to her lack of training, you can thank your lucky stars that at least a rapid-fire assault weapon was inside the school and readily available for someone who’s never used a gun in their lifetime to defend our right to guns.
Hey, this idea is almost as good as the one that suggested all we had to do was require kids to have clear backpacks and we’d instantly prevent guns from ever getting inside schools.

The fact that they are SOO unintelligent AND in positions of authority is what scares me the most about dumb-azz, fear-mongering, White people. They are the #1 threat to Our country, to Our democracy and to Our way of life. They are dangerous!
And let’s be clear, this is about dumb-azz, fear-mongering, White people because if primarily dumb-azz Black people wanted this -and most White people were against it – we wouldn’t be having this discussion. It would NEVER have been approved in the first place!
