The latest numbers for President Obama’s approval rating are out. They are as follows:
APPROVE 47%
DISAPPROVE 53%
The ethnic breakdown of those who approve of Mr. Obama are as follows:
BLACKS 93%
HISPANICS 57%
WHITES 37%
These numbers may surprise the White House on a number of levels. His approval among African-Americans is high, which was expected. But his numbers are higher than expected among the fast growing Hispanic population. However, many political pundits believe Mr. Obama will need to elevate his approval numbers among white voters in order to be reelected.
The truth is, I tend to ignore most polls. Nate Silver’s 538.com is about the only site I pay attention to for polling analysis.That said. I do believe these numbers are about right as per the racial-ethnic breakdown. And Yes, Obama will have to improve his numbers among Whites, specifically among White “independents” and women who helped give him the Presidency. He’s still got time. But he needs to “get busy” NOW if he wants to be re-elected.Blacks Support: Many, if not most Blacks, see Obama’s Presidency as a “divine” mission. They firmly believe: Had it not been for “The Lord” on his side, he would not be President today! Therefore, even though they may disagree with him at times, or are disappointed with him about something _most Blacks will continue to support him. Blacks will discuss issues among Ourselves but “WE” are Masters at keeping “Our “ business “in the family.” The looks I sometimes get from other Blacks when I criticize the President “cuts like a knife”…lol.But my friends, family members know me. I just try to “keep it real.” I like him. But he doesn’t “walk on water” with me. He’s a politician…period. Hispanic Support: Hispanics aren’t “in-love” with Pres. Obama OR the Democratic Party. They are OFFENDED by the Republican Party when it comes to the issue of “illegal” immigration. And as long as Repubs keep throwing Hispanic votes away, the Dems will gladly take them!
