OBAMA FILM ACCENTUATES POSITIVES
The Obama campaign has inserted itself into the political discussion with the release of a new documentary film.

The slick, Hollywood production “The Road We’ve Traveled,” was directed by Academy Award Winner Davis Guggenheim (“Training Day,” “An Inconvenient Truth”) and narrated by Oscar winning actor Tom Hanks. The documentary spends 17 minutes reminding the American public what it was like nearly 4 years ago when Mr. Obama took office, including the economic catastrophe the Bush administration left behind and the meltdown of the financial and automobile industries. But the film also reminds us of the euphoric feeling the night the first black President of the United States was elected, as well as his top accomplishments including ending the Iraq war, passing health care reform and capturing Osama bin Laden.
As expected, Republicans were all over the film when it was released last Thursday. Many in the GOP spent unnecessary energy wondering why Mr. Obama only listed his successes and not his failures. But as a paid campaign aide to remind voters of his accomplishments, it should have been obvious why the film listed the positives.
The film is a stunning and very well produced introduction into the 2012 campaign. YouTube viewers say “This video makes me proud to be an American,” and “Amazing! I watched three times lol. Well done Mr. President.” In case you haven’t seen it yet, take the next 17 minutes to check it out for yourself:
You're right DJ, this documentary is well done. But here's my problem with it. The President and his campaign staff seem to be depending on this documentary to tell his story at a time when most Americans could care less about watching any documentary. Too many people are still facing REAl-life, day-to-day struggles of every kind (unemployed, underemployed, uninsured, broke, about to lose ther homes, bad health, etc) IMO, the President should make the case to the American people HIMSELF. Go on tv, talk to Us and remind us of ALL that he faced when he was elected. Get out into the country (inner-cities, suburbs and areas). Talk to Us. Tell us of how far wev've come under HIS leadership and how far we've yet to go. Make the case FOR HIMSELF. Then_and ONLY then_should he use this well done documentary to compliment the case he has spent months discussing IN DETAIL with the American people, up close and personal…FOR.HIMSELF.
