OBAMA IN THE LION’S DEN

Spread The Love

If you’ve never heard of the old saying “The Hunter gets captured by the Game,” you missed an incredible display of it last week.

On Friday, President Obama took a trip to the “Lion’s Den,” when he visited a Republican Congressional retreat in Baltimore.  Although the GOP Lion’s were prepared to virtually devour the President while he was on their turf, it was Mr. Obama who ate them alive, delivering a performance that was at once defiant, substantive and engaging.  For more than an hour and a half, the President lectured GOP leaders on the perils of division and the strength of unity, reminding them that the American people are more concerned with keeping their jobs, instead of politicians scoring political points to keep THEIR jobs.  During the nationally-televised question-and-answer session, Mr. Obama deflected GOP policy critiques, corrected their misstatements and scolded them for playing petty politics.  It was a veritable Master Class.  WATCH:

I saw part of this on television Friday and I must admit it was like a master class. Republicans tried to trap him but he really held his own.

I heard there's quite a bit of hoopla over Obama's speech the other night and I for one wasn't impressed. Republicans asked some very pointed questions of him. Yet he often appeared uncomfortable whenever the conversation turned up the heat. That wasn't so special.

I guess it wasn't much of a so-called "lion's den" afterall and the President knew he could handle it 🙂
