Last week was quite a week for Donald Trump.
First the birther issue took center stage, as President Obama bent to the whims of Trump and released his long form birth certificate, while Trump took a victory lap that he was able to force the president’s hand. Then Trump spoke at a Republican fundraiser in Las Vegas, where he delivered a profanity laced speech that was so riddled with f-bombs, it would have made Kathy Griffin blush. Next, Trump got into a rift with CBS talk show host David Letterman, who insinuated that Trump’s reasoning behind the birther issue was racially motivated. Trump was so angry at Letterman, that he canceled an upcoming and any future appearances on Letterman’s show.
But the real fun happened Saturday night at the annual White House Correspondent’s Dinner in Washington. Hosted by “Saturday Night Live” star Seth Meyers, the evening turned into a roast of Trump, who was actually in attendance and didn’t find any of the jokes about him the least bit funny. Seth Meyers and President Obama took turns using Trump as a virtual punching bag, with some of the best and funniest zingers ever presented at the annual media event.
