OBAMA’S OPEN MIC
President Obama had an open mic moment yesterday — and this time it wasn’t him singing Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” at the Apollo Theatre.
Mr. Obama believed he was having a private conversation with Russian President Dmitri Medvedev at a security summit in South Korea on Monday. However, what the president didn’t realize is that his microphone was live just when he was telling Medvedev that he would have more negotiating room on missile defense after the November elections.
“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,” President Obama was clearly heard telling Medvedev. Those words have now gone viral throughout the conservative blog sphere, where Republicans have been having a field day trying to use the president’s own words against him politically.
However, Mr. Obama was merely stating the obvious, since it is true that all presidents are usually constrained by what they can do prior to an election. But that hasn’t stopped Republicans from trying to squeeze any and every political advantage out of it they can get. WATCH:
