OK WASSUP! IS MOVIN’ ON UP

As the old JEFFERSON’S theme song says:  “We’re Movin’ On Up!”

We promised it, and now we’re ready to reveal some exciting new changes to OK WASSUP! that are more interactive, will allow you to connect with existing friends and others throughout the Internet, and just present a much richer user experience.  Here are some of the updates:

SITE ADDRESS:   OK WASSUP! is now OKWASSUP.COM.  You may use this new easier address to access the site, or you may continue using okwassup.blogspot.com if you prefer. Both will lead you to the same place

NEW POLLS:   We’ve partnered with PollDaddy.com to bring you a better survey experience.  The polls are cleaner, easier to use, and connect with millions across the Internet. Cast your vote and it goes beyond just this site. Share the survey with friends through a variety of social networking sites or via email.

REACTIONS:   Just below each post is a new “Reactions” panel.  React to our stories by telling us if you like it, love it, or hate it.

SHARE:   Get your friends involved in the conversation.  Share our stories via Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz and other social networking sites.

☆☆☆ But the biggest and perhaps most noticeable change to the site is the COMMENTS feature.  We’ve replaced the old Blogger Comments with a brand new panel powered by ECHO — and it is amazing!  Here are some of the exciting features of our new comment system:

REAL-TIME:   Now watch people react to blog posts and your comments live and in real time — all without refreshing the page!

SHARE CONTENT:   Did you like a specific story or post an incredible comment?  Now broaden the conversation and share it with friends across your favorite social networks all at once with the click of a button.

CONNECT:  Comment as a Guest, or sign-in using one of your already existing profiles from dozens of popular social networks, including Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Blogger and more (Facebook coming soon). Even bind multiple social media accounts together.  No new ID’s or passwords to remember.  Your existing web profile will follow you!

MULTIMEDIA:  Want to share an interesting video or photo you found on the web?  Now include YouTube videos or photos directly into your post for viewing right inside the conversation.

RICH COMMENTS:  Our comments now allow HTML coding, meaning you may post your text as BOLD, Underlined, or in Italics.  You may also include a hyperlink to direct readers to an interesting or relevant article elsewhere.  Even add a smiley face if you’d like.

FOLLOW – RESPOND VIA EMAIL:   Want to know when someone responds to a story or to your individual post?  Just click “Follow” on your comment panel before posting and we’ll email you when the conversation heats up.  Also, now use your computer or mobile phone to respond to a post via email.  Just click the “Respond” link inside the “Follow” email we send you, and your comment will post to our site instantly.

MULTI-ENGAGEMENT:   Click to “Like” a favored comment post. Or click “Reply” to respond directly to someone else’s post for a flowing threaded conversation.  See spam or an offensive post?  Just click “Flag” to report it and have it removed.
