OMG!

Spread The Love
In case you were one of the millions of Americans who heard shrieks, howls, and other gasps in the air last Friday, no it’s not yet Halloween.  It was conservatives fainting in the streets at the news that President Obama has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.  WHAT THE &%$#!?!
OK WASSUP! Republicans tried numerous times in vain to get the Nobel committee to recognize former President George W. Bush, but their attempts were in vain as he was consistently “passed by.”  Now, after only 9 months in office, their nemisis Obama gets the nod after doing — in their words — nothing???  It’s a travesty.  Well, in President Obama’s defense, he never sought the award, didn’t know he’d even been nominated for it, and was just as shocked as everyone to learn early Friday morning that he had won it.  Some say he should decline it, since an award of this magnitude would almost certainly put undue pressure on him to live up to the honor, and could potentially box him in on his pending decision regarding Afghanistan (how can he send more troops into battle after just receiving a “Peace” award?).  Still others say a Nobel Peace Prize is such a rare and coveted honor, that Mr. Obama would be foolish to pass it up.  What do you think?

From Cornel West: "I don't understand the criteria of the Nobel Prize committee. They give it to Martin King, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu. I can understand that. They give it to Teddy Roosevelt, Henry Kissinger, two of the most pro-war people in the 20th Century. They give them the Peace prize. I say well … I don't know. I just think it's gonna really put him in a limelight because … you know, you already sent 21,000 troops. You might send 65,000 troops. That's not a Peace Prize-acting activity. You see what I mean."
