NOBODY can tell Donald Trump what to say or do. But an order of protection can!
Top News Today :
For decades, Donald Trump has lived the privileged life of being able to say and do practically any and everything he wants. He’s even surrounded himself with “yes-men” whose job has been to only tell him what he wanted to hear — and to NEVER dare tell him that some word or action by him was not in his best interest.
We’ve all seen Trump use Twitter (X) as his personal and preferred boxing ring to levy threats and insults against his enemies in order to rev up his base. In fact, after he was kicked off Twitter and launched his own site (TruthSocial), Trump has been a veritable master at manipulating the social media system to his advantage.
However, that was then and this is now.
Last week, Special Counsel Jack Smith indicted Trump for using “unlawful means” in an attempt to subvert the results of the 2020 presidential election. Needless to say, Trump didn’t like being indicted for a 3rd time and being told what he couldn’t do. So, he did what he does best and lashed out at Smith on social media as a defense mechanism.
In a post on his TruthSocial network, Trump delivered an ominous message to the special counsel:
“IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”
Trump’s words were a standard threat tactic from his usual bag of tricks. In fact, he probably chuckled as he wrote the post, recognizing that his sycophants would eat it up and cheer him for standing up to those who dared to chastise him.
Except, Jack Smith wasn’t laughing.
Remembering how one of Trump’s last threats turned into the January 6th Capitol Hill insurrection, Smith went to court and filed an immediate order of protection against Donald J. Trump for his social media taunt.
In the motion, Smith wrote:
All the proposed order seeks to prevent is the improper dissemination or use of discovery materials, including to the public. Such a restriction is particularly important in this case because the defendant has previously issued public statements on social media regarding witnesses, judges, attorneys, and others associated with legal matters pending against him. And in recent days, regarding this case, the defendant has issued multiple posts—either specifically or by implication—including the following, which the defendant posted just hours ago:
If the defendant were to begin issuing public posts using details—or, for example, grand jury transcripts—obtained in discovery here, it could have a harmful chilling effect on witnesses or adversely affect the fair administration of justice in this case.
On Saturday, Judge Tanya Chutkan ordered Trump’s team to file a response, as well as their own version of a proposed order. The judge wrote:
MINUTE ORDER as to DONALD J. TRUMP: It is hereby ORDERED that by 5:00 PM on August 7, 2023, Defendant shall file a response to the government’s 10 Motion for Protective Order, stating Defendant’s position on the Motion. If Defendant disagrees with any portion of the government’s proposed Protective Order, ECF No. 10-1, his response shall include a revised version of that Protective Order with any modifications in redline. Signed by Judge Tanya S. Chutkan on 08/05/2023
Cutting through the legal mumbo jumbo, let’s explain what happened.
Jack Smith used the order of protection to put Trump on notice that he will not be intimidated. He also let it be known that he will use Trump’s own words and actions against him at every legal turn.
This means that if any harm comes to Smith during his prosecution of the Trump case, Trump could be held liable. Additionally, the order of protection is only the first step in a sea of legal maneuvering available to Smith that could later include a gag order and more.
To put it bluntly, Smith proved that Donald Trump’s usual social media games and intimidation tricks will simply not work this time. Or, in other words, while Trump is playing checkers, Jack Smith is cleverly playing chess.

Trump is used to operating with impunity with little to No legal consequences to his actions, especially his bully tactics.
In actuality he’s a dime-store punk, a Fake alpha who depends on his gullible and lowly minions to carry out his threats. They get arrested, destroy their lives while he safely stands off in the distance.
But DJ is right. Trump has met his match this time. And if he didn’t know that before he’s about to find out now! And it goes beyond Jack Smith and Judge Chutkan.
