Orlando Shooting Was Revenge;
Not Terrorism
When Omar Mateen shot up the Pulse LGBT nightclub in Orlando, killing 49 and injuring 53, many were quick to call the murders by the American born Muslim man an act of terrorism. However, new information has revealed a surprisingly different motive.

The horrific massacre was not at all terrorism, but rather an act of revenge specifically against gay Latin men, says a man who claims to be the gunman’s former lover.
During an exclusive TV interview with Univision News last week, a man using the pseudonym “Miguel” made the shocking claim that Mateen was not a terrorist — he was simply a confused and conflicted gay man who had a deep affinity toward latin men.
Wearing a prosthetic facial mask to conceal his identity for safety reasons, Miguel said he and Mateen met last fall on the gay dating app Grindr, then engaged in a regular two-months long “friends with benefits” sexual relationship.
“He was a very sweet guy,” Miguel said. “He loved to be cuddled. He was looking for love.”
According to Miguel, Mateen had self-hate issues for being gay, largely related to his Muslim faith’s stance against homosexuality, as well as his father’s strict belief that all gays should die. His sexual desires made him conflicted, which prompted him to lead a double life of living with a wife and child in one town, then driving 2 hours away to Orlando to fulfill a closeted gay lifestyle.
Mateen was required to live up to the great expectations of his strict father, which included the religious belief that Muslims are not gay and that all gay people must be destroyed.
“Gay people is the devil and gay people have to die — that’s what his father told him,” Miguel recalled.
Despite his father’s condemnation, Mateen found a way to experience his gay fantasies. Multiple witnesses said they’ve seen him for years on all of the gay dating/hook-up apps. They even said he was a regular patron at Pulse, always making sure to show up on Saturday’s popular Latin night.
“He adored Latinos, gay Latinos, with brown skin — but he felt rejected,” Miguel continued. “He felt used by them — there were moments in the Pulse nightclub that made him feel really bad. Guys used him. That really affected him. I believe this crazy horrible thing he did — that was revenge.”
Current Events
Revenge is indeed the operative word, as Miguel said he believes the mass shooting was triggered by the revelation from one of Mateen’s many Puerto Rican sexual partners that he was HIV-positive.
“I’ve cried like you have no idea,” Miguel said. “But the thing that makes me want to tell the truth is that he didn’t do it for terrorism. In my opinion he did it for revenge.” When asked why he decided to come forward with his story, Miguel added: “It’s my responsibility as a citizen of the United States and a gay man.”
Authorities have found no conclusive evidence of Mateen being radicalized by any terrorist group. In fact, their investigation shows he didn’t even realize the difference between ISIS and al Qaeda (2 terror groups who hate each other). It’s possible his mention of ISIS during the killings may have been a rouse, so as to prevent authorities from ever considering the shootings were the result of his sexual secret.
“Maybe he wanted to die as a hero for something terrible he did,” Miguel told Univision. “They cannot think this was terrorism. There’s too many questions that have to be answered.”
The day after the shooting, Seddique Mir Mateen, the gunman’s father, posted a video to Facebook in which he said, “God will punish those involved in homosexuality,” adding it’s “not an issue that humans should deal with.” Interestingly, Mateen’s ex-wife confirmed in various TV appearances that her former husband had a personal secret he didn’t want anyone to know about. Hmmm…
If revenge was the actual motive, what pushed Mateen over the edge to commit mass murder against a club full of mostly Latinos? Was it his deep religious disconnect in leading a double life? Was it his father’s years of conditioning that all gays must die? Was it a feeling of insecurity from being used by Hispanic gay men? Was it that perhaps Mateen found out he had contracted HIV from one of his latin partners and snapped?
Maybe it was none of the above. Maybe it was all of the above. However, one thing is becoming crystal clear — it was almost assuredly NOT terrorism.
People are always quick to judge. They called this terrorism the minute it happened. I always thought there was more to it than meet the eye. This guy was gay and that is all. To bad he was so mad about his life style that he had to ruin all these other peoples lives.
