Overconfident For Hillary?
Don’t Do It!
Are you enjoying the three-ring-circus known as Donald Trump? Are you convinced Hillary Clinton already has the election in the bag? Well, President Obama has a strong warning for you: Don’t get overconfident!
Politics
On Monday, the president urged Democrats not to allow the bloopers and blunders of Trump to cloud their judgment about the 2016 election. Or in other words: don’t get it twisted. Americans still must actually cast their ballots and vote, or else Hillary will lose.

Despite Mrs. Clinton’s strong poll numbers and Donald Trump’s daily dose of a brand new self-inflicted wound, Mr. Obama is warning his party not to become overconfident, not to skip going to the polls, and to maintain a sense of urgency until after the November 8th election.
“If we are not running scared until the day after the election, we are going to be making a grave mistake,” President Obama told donors who contributed $10,000 each to attend a Democratic fundraiser at a private home on Martha’s Vineyard.
“If we do our job, then Hillary will be elected president of the United States. But if we do not do our jobs, then it’s still possible for her to lose.”
The message that “it ain’t over until it’s over” is a smart and necessary warning.
Politics
The president’s warning is a precursor to the role he will play this fall in encouraging get-out-the-vote efforts for his former secretary of state and the Clinton-Kaine ticket. Although Mr. Obama has openly discussed his disdain for Trump and called the reality TV star unqualified to sit in the Oval Office, he told donors he has grown tired of talking about “The Donald.”
“I don’t have to make the case against [Hillary’s] opponent because every time [Trump] talks he makes the case against his own candidacy,” the president said to raucous laughter.
Mr. Obama’s remarks come amid yet another huge shakeup inside the Trump campaign.
Paul Manafort has been replaced as campaign manager, with Trump naming Steve Bannon of Breitbart News as campaign CEO and Kellyanne Conway as his new campaign manager. Manafort will remain with the campaign in the figurehead position of “Chairman,” however, he has become the fall guy, as Trump refuses to accept responsibility for the enormous gaffes and controversial statements he brought on himself in recent weeks that has resulted in a deep drop in the polls.
In the mind of Trump, picking a fight with the Gold Star parents of a fallen Muslim soldier, taking the purple heart away from a veteran, and calling President Obama the “founder of ISIS,” among other outlandish actions, is everyone’s fault but his own.
Despite the apparent disarray inside Trump World, President Obama’s words still hold true: We must take NOTHING for granted. We still MUST vote!

Thanks for this post DJ. This is a huge concern of mine. And Hear! Hear! Mr. President. Could not agree with you more. Yes. Hillary is sitting in the cat-bird seat right now – and if her campaign continues to go relatively well from now until November (and Trump keeps shooting off his mouth) then the race, IMO, is already over and she will be Our next President. However, Dems can't afford to take this election for granted. We MUST continue encouraging one another to vote! And for those who may need an extra incentive to vote for Hillary, how bout this: Omarosa: Every Critic Will 'Bow Down' To President Trump If He Wins In a trailer released Tuesday for a new PBS documentary about the 2016 election, Donald Trump protégé Omarosa Manigault suggests an important motivation for him running for president is that all those who oppose Trump would… Read more »
