I’m a moderate/conservative Independent with an occasional “liberal” lean depending on the issue at hand. But it looks to me like the GOP does indeed believe their shameless and shameful politics are worth it.And I suppose all things considered _meaning all of the Shameless and Shameful acts/tactics they’ve been engaged in since Nixon_it’s pretty much all they know at this point. 40 years of playing to the most extreme fears, ignorance and bigotry of a mostly poor, UNeducated, southern, white "ChristiaNIST base" has resulted in having a “leadership” that is a joke at best. The GOP has NO vision. NO credible plans. NO principles. NO integrity NO SHAME. Nothing. Its hierarchy is a mish-mash of mostly "NOT too bright", disingenuous, CHICKEN-hawks trapped in a politically dead-end game of Right-wing “Chicken”; a game of their OWN making with NO way out. And you know the situation is pathetically dire when G. Dubya makes more sense_and sounds “wiser” than the entire GOP “leadership”: “I'm an American FIRST, and a Republican SECOND. I put my country ahead of my party." WoW! (shaking my head)Nixon’s “Southern Strategy” and Lee Atwater’s “perfecting” the use of that strategy combined with his own style of “slash-and-burn politics” has finally all but Killed the Republican party.Rove was NEVER a political "master-mind.” He was/is merely a 2-bit narcissistic WANNABE willing to carry-on the madness originated by Nixon and Atwater. There was absolutely NOTHING “ingenious” about the game plans Rove used. Nixon and Atwater had long ago worked out the details. Rove simply followed the outlines in their playbooks.BTW: Even Atwater denounced his own sh*t, in a piece written by him, featured in Life Magazine, in 1991 prior to his death from a brain tumor.Anyway: After the disaster aka the NON-budget "GOP Budget & Recovery Plan" (or something to that affect) rolled out to much criticism a few days ago_2 key questions all Republicans should be asking themselves today: 1. Is the party actually DYING? And if so(?)2. How much longer can it survive on life-support???
