Paul Pelosi Mockery Is Crossing The Line
When is crossing the line too far? For the answer, one needs to look no further than the case of Paul Pelosi.
Politics :
Republicans have been tripping over each other to take their turn at mocking Paul Pelosi (the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi) after he was bludgeoned with a hammer by a known MAGA/QAnon assailant during a home break-in last week. “Where is Nancy? Where is Nancy?” the attacker shouted as he searched the home for Speaker Pelosi, before beating Paul Pelosi into submission and fracturing his skull.
Human compassion suggests that people (particularly those who claim to be “Christian”) would be disturbed and feel a sense of empathy for an 82-year-old senior citizen who had been beaten by an attacker.
Sadly, not Republicans!
After purchasing Twitter over the weekend, conservative billionaire Elon Musk took to his new social media platform to spread a wild conspiracy theory he’d read about Paul Pelosi. Musk tweeted a link to an article from a known conservative rag that claimed the violent attack was not conducted by a MAGA sycophant, but by a sex worker who was involved in a secret gay relationship with Mr. Pelosi in a deal gone bad.
“There is a tiny possibility there might be more to this story than meets the eye,” Musk posted in his very first tweet as the owner of Twitter. He later deleted the tweet after realizing it was tasteless and not factual — but not before racking up more than 28,000 retweets and 100,000 likes.
On Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. didn’t want to be outdone. So, he took to Instagram and posted a photo of underwear and a hammer with the caption: “Got my Paul Pelosi Halloween costume ready.”
In the comment section, Don Jr. added: “If you switch out the hammer for a red feather boa, you could be Hunter Biden in an instant.”
As expected, his post received rousing support from MAGA supporters. However, at least one person had the decency to call the post what it is: “despicable.”
Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin of Virginia is being urged to resign after making his own political remarks at the expense of Paul Pelosi.
“Speaker Pelosi’s husband — they had a break-in last night in their house, and he was assaulted,” Youngkin said at an event over the weekend. “We’re going to send her back to be with him in California. That’s what we’re going to go do,” he added.
Virginia Democrats were instantly and harshly critical of him for choosing politics over sympathy.
“A father, grandfather and husband is in brain surgery after an act of heinous political violence and at a political rally for my opponent, our Governor taunts his wife because he disagrees with her politics?” said Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA). “I hope he’ll apologize and show humanity towards the Pelosi family.”
“Paul Pelosi was violently attacked and suffered with a fractured skull,” tweeted state Sen. Louise Lucas (D-Portsmouth). “Republican leaders condemned the attack while Glenn Youngkin mocked him. He has embarrassed Virginia. Governor, either apologize or RESIGN.”
Youngkin later appeared on Newsmax to condemn the assault and wish Paul Pelosi a full recovery. Still, the damage — and the crassness by him and his Republican clan — was already done.

Republicans mock Paul Pelosi attack.
NBC News: The Republican nominee for governor of Arizona, Kari Lake, made light of the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband in remarks at a campaign event Monday, drawing laughter from the audience. Asked about school security, Lake suggested the protection afforded to federal lawmakers should be available to students, as well. “Nancy Pelosi, well, she’s got protection when she’s in D.C. — apparently her house doesn’t have a lot of protection,” Lake said at a campaign event in Scottsdale, Arizona, sparking laughter from many in attendance. Lake then said, “If our lawmakers can have protection, if our politicians can have protection, if our athletes, then certainly the most important people in our lives — our children — should have protection.” Pelosi’s 82-year-old husband, Paul Pelosi, was brutally attacked Friday at the couple’s San Francisco home. The speaker was in Washington, D.C., with her protective detail when the break-in… Read more »
