POLICE BRUTALITY CAUGHT ON TAPE

Spread The Love

Remember the beat down of Rodney King back in the late 1980’s that started a whole new trend of police brutality caught on videotape? Well that trend resurfaced this week with a brand new “caught on tape” beating that nearly rivals that of Rodney King.

Following a college basketball victory during last month’s NCAA tournament, unarmed University of Maryland student Jack McKenna took to the streets of College Park, MD in Prince George’s County, to celebrate among a crowd of revelers. Unbeknownst to all involved, a video camera was present and recording everything.  And in that video, which has been aired nationwide and casts a new light on Prince George’s police tactics, McKenna is seen innocently skipping on a sidewalk in celebration of his team’s victory before abruptly stopping at a wall of officers on horseback. But within seconds, two Prince George’s officers ran up to him and, seemingly out of nowhere, attacked him while a third officer joined in the beating.

Now here’s the real kicker: Officer Sean McAleavey filed the required charging documents about the incident with the Prince George Police Department, but conveniently omitted any mention of a beating at all. In fact, in his official version of the story he said that TWO students had assaulted police on horseback who were controlling crowds after the game. His story was considered the true and official explanation of the night’s events, until the unknown videotape surfaced, debunking his words and prompting the department to suspend him yesterday. If you haven’t already, you truly must see it to believe it. WATCH:

Yes I do remember the Rodney King beating and yes this comes close to rivaling it. See this is why a lot of people don't trust police officers. Not only did they beat this guy up for no reason but they lied about it and tried to cover it up. That is just sad.
