POLL: Do You Vote?

Unbiased Political News
Granted, most people get pretty revved up for America’s presidential election every 4 years, but what about tomorrow’s midterm elections? Ehhh… not so much! After all, the presidential election brings out the biggest stars with the biggest money for the biggest of stakes. However, midterm elections seem boring, inconsequential and irrelevant. Except, it’s not.
You see, midterm elections actually elect the men and women who actually write and control the laws we live by. The minimum wage, your state’s max unemployment rate, as well as funding for transportation, roads, bridges, schools and more are all decided by the men and women of the U.S. Congress elected tomorrow. Also, the party in control of the House of Representatives and the Senate can make life in America liberal and luscious or conservative and crazy.
Today, the Democratic Party controls the White House and the U.S. Senate, while the Republican Party controls the U.S. House of Representatives. However, tomorrow could potentially see Republicans grabbing a majority of the Senate, creating a power shift that could have the GOP attempting to turn back the clock on health care and more. Therefore, Republicans are actually hoping that a huge chunk of voters simply stay at home, so that their armies of conservative voters can take to the polls for them to “take back” the country. They’ve even created new voter-ID laws and implemented new voter-suppression strategies so as to block minorities from voting at all and assuring themselves a win. Are you really willing to use your inaction to help them?

During the last major midterm election of 2010, only 41% of voters turned out, which equals 91 million ballots being counted or 30% of the population. Is that acceptable to you??
This year, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Colorado and Kentucky are huge battleground states, particularly when it comes to African-American and Latino voters who could be the deciding factor. However, African-Americans and Latinos will be invisible if they don’t go to the polls and register their voice.
