The furor started when Trump stated his plans to build a wall along the U.S./Mexico border and deport 11 million illegal immigrants if he’s elected. However, Trump recently doubled-down on those words by saying he expects push back from the pope, who he called a “pawn of the Mexican Government” when it comes to immigration. […]

Disclosure: I am not Catholic.

Trump drew first blood. The Pope responded in-kind.

The Pope should not comment on any political subject on any country. If he does, he should expect reply of his opinion is pointed. I am a Catholic and the Pope is not one of my favorite people. When he speaks on matters of Faith, from the chair of Peter I will obey, other than that he is fallible, BL

…for reporting the facts…and putting this story in proper context as to what actually triggered the comments from the Pope as Trump did indeed draw first-blood against the Pope. The Pope merely responded in-kind.

Faux News…(to my knowledge) has always operated as a Repub propoganda mouthpiece (the equivalent of right-wing talk-radio) so I never have an expectation of factual reporting from them…even in a case like involving the Pope.

Regular readers of this site know that I consider the American news media to be mostly a BS and Hype industry, especially CNN and MSNBC. Both networks, IMO, have really gone to the dogs since the run-up to the illegal invasion of Iraq. From my observation, it's been an ongoing race to the bottom for both networks over the years. I think both networks have lost nearly all credibility when covering major stories of any kind…and most certainly when it comes to their obsessive 24/7 coverage of Trump running for President. I'm down to about 30-40 minutes of news daily. That's about all i can stand.

I said all that to say this……..

I knew there had to be more to this story than just the Pope deciding to take the unprecedented step to weigh in on an American primary presidential candidate…especially taking on Trump. Thanks to DJ I now know what prompted the Pope to comment.

Thanks again DJ,

If Trump does win the Repub nomination, I suspect that many Catholic-American voters won't forget how he insulted the leader of their faith. They will have a chance to respond in November.

Even if it is the pope. Trump thinks his sh*t don't stink but hopefully he'll learn the hard way.
