After being away for the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s time to catch up on all the news we missed in this OK WASSUP! post-holiday news round-up.
Current Events :
It may be hard to believe, but a lot has happened over the past 10 days in the worlds of politics, entertainment, and more. Or, in other words, Americans took a holiday but the news did not. So, let’s take a look at the post-holiday news:
COLORADO LGBTQ SHOOTING
The court of public opinion remains confused over a deadly shooting on Saturday, Nov. 19th inside a Gay & Lesbian bar in Colorado Springs.
Just after midnight, 22-year-old Anderson Lee Aldrich walked into Club Q and immediately and randomly opened fire, killing 5 people and injuring 25 others. The massacre only ended once a group of brave customers stood up to the gunman and refused to allow the shooting spree to continue.
Although police initially believed the shooting was a hate crime, they later discovered that Aldrich identifies as nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns — signaling that he may also be gay.
“OK, well sh*t… I’m glad he’s not gay. I can say that, I’m glad he’s not gay,” Aldrich’s father, Aaron Brink said in a shocking response while focusing on his son’s sexuality over the lives that were lost. “I’m a conservative Republican and we don’t do gay.”
Aldrich is now in jail and faces 5 counts of first-degree murder and 5 counts of a bias-motivated crime causing bodily injury.
TRUMP INDICTMENT IS IMMINENT
In more post-holiday news, US Attorney General Merrick Garland signaled during the holiday break that he’s ready to press forward with the prosecution of Donald Trump.
Garland appointed war crimes prosecutor Jack Smith to serve as special counsel in the Trump investigations, which has the legal world warning that Trump is about to live his worst nightmare.
“I thought appointing a special counsel might delay things. He’s clearly found a special counsel who won’t delay a thing,” retired Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe said on CNN. “He’s hitting the ground running. He clearly has enormous experience. He’s come right off of the war crimes trials that he’s handling in Kosovo. He’s been in charge of political corruption trials. He’s battle-hardened. He’s absolutely ready.”
CRYPTO GOES BUST
If you were foolish enough to invest your hard-earned money into the cryptocurrency craze (AKA “fake/pretend money”), you may be crying yourself to sleep these nights over huge financial losses.
SURPRISE! Yes, the unfortunate post-holiday news is that FTX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, has gone bankrupt.
Last Monday, Sam Bankman-Fried, the chief executive of FTX, took to Twitter to reassure his customers: “FTX is fine. Assets are fine.” However, by Friday, the entire company was financially insolvent.
Bankman-Fried is accused of juggling the books in order to make things appear rosy to investors. Now, actor Larry David, football star Tom Brady, model Giselle Bündchen, former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal, current NBA player Stephen Curry, and others are suing after losing millions overnight in what appears to be a scam.
“Here we are, with one of the richest people in the world, his net worth dropping to zero, his business dropping to zero,” Jared Ellias, a bankruptcy professor at Harvard Law School, said of Bankman-Fried. “The velocity of this failure is just unbelievable.”
MUSK IS MURDERING TWITTER
Thanks to its new owner, Elon Musk, Twitter, the once-popular social media network is dying a swift death.
Musk, who owns Tesla, is an avowed conservative. His dream for Twitter was to allow Donald Trump back on the site as well as any Tom, Dick, and Harry spewing racism, homophobia, xenophobia, and any other form of hate in a veritable verbal free-for-all. Too bad advertisers and Twitter users didn’t share his vision.
In the 1 month since Musk took over, 50 of the network’s top 100 advertisers have abandoned ship. Additionally, prominent celebrities and ordinary users have also ditched Twitter by the thousands.
Perhaps Elon should stick to making fancy cars and sending rockets into space — and leave his politics and social media visions for someone else.

Great post-holiday news round-up summary DJ!
The only event missing is the white nationalist, Holocaust denying, anti-Semitic dinner Trump hosted over the weekend with Kanye and Nick Fuentes.
The news media is going berserk over it but frankly given who Trump is, I don’t know why the media freaking out!
