On Friday night, Houston, the 4th largest city in America, was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. The end result of the devastation is now being called one of the worst flooding natural disasters in US history.

Damage is said to be in the billions. The clean-up efforts to return Houston back to its original form is predicted to take years.

Watching this catastrophic event unfold over the weekend was just heart-breaking. And it’s still not over yet, which makes it even more heart-breaking.

My “better half” resides in a beautiful suburb about 30 minutes outside Dallas. They are being spared this nightmare in terms of weather.

But she and I both are so frustrated that in 2017, we live in a nation that put a man on the moon, but somehow local, state and federal government STILL CAN’T come together and enact a coordinated plan to effectively get people OUT of harms way in a TIMELY manner when facing a natural disaster such as a Category 4 hurricane!?!

It’s sickens me. Something.Has.Got.To.Change.
