PREACHER OPPOSES GAY RIGHTS?

Spread The Love

In August of this year, the Springfield, MO City Council held a public hearing to consider amending the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance to include sexual orientation and gender identity protections.

Rev. Phil Snider of the Brentwood Christian Church in Springfield took to the podium and, using an all too familiar argument, lashed out at the council for “inviting the judgement of God upon our land” by making “special rights for gays and lesbians.”

Rev. Snider invoked the bible, challenged the council’s thoughts on morality and even reminded everyone that we may be in the end of days and needing to do “God’s will” — then all of a sudden he lost his train of thought, stumbled, then shocked and amazed everyone in attendance with what happened next.

Yes God wants people to stop sinning, but God does not expect us to be perfect either. A lot of Christians get hung up on the sin of being gay and forget about all of their own sins… lying, lust, cheating, theft, and sometimes just being bad people amongst other things. Instead of showing outward love towards all other people no matter who they are or what they've done, a lot of Christians like to pretend like other people's sins are worse then their own because it makes them feel better… Read more »
