President Kamala Harris: Is It Still Possible?

Spread The Love

Is ‘President Kamala Harris’ still a possibility? Interestingly, yes!

Politics :
Vice President Kamala Harris may have come up short last week in her bid for the presidency, but insiders are discussing ways she could still become the President of the United States.

Obviously, Ms. Harris could run for the office again in 2028. However, there is a clever workaround that could make her President Harris much sooner.

President Harris

According to POLITICO, former Harris communications director Jamal Simmons has suggested the possibility of President Biden stepping down during his final weeks in office, theoretically making Kamala Harris the 47th President of the United States.

“Joe Biden has been a phenomenal president, he’s lived up to so many of the promises that he’s made. There is one promise left that he can fulfill: Being a transitional figure,” Simmons said during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union.

“He could resign the presidency in the next 30 days, make Kamala Harris the president of the United States. He could absolve her from having to oversee the January 6th transition of her own defeat.”

If Mr. Biden were to do so, his generous move would make President Harris the first woman and woman of color to serve in the Oval Office even if only for a few days. It would also be a move for the history books that would add to his legacy.

“It would dominate the news at a point where Democrats have to learn drama and transparency and doing things in the public we want to see. This is the moment for us to change the perspective of how Democrats operate,” Simmons said.

For the record, there’s no indication that Vice President Harris has sought this nifty promotion in the final months of the Biden/Harris administration. Nor has President Biden ever hinted that he is willing to give up the presidency early for his own vice president.

Still, it’s an interesting — albeit improbable — idea.

Would have been nice if Biden would’ve kept his original promise to be a transitional president and therefore stepped aside early enough for the Dems to have had an actual primary. But he didn’t do that.

Instead, he hung on till it was much too late. Even after his disastrous debate performance, it took Nancy Pelosi having to literally threaten him to voluntarily step aside or be pushed aside before he agreed to take himself out of the running.

All of that notwithstanding, in the end, the presidential election came down to this. Most Americans do NOT want a woman, Any woman, Black or White, to be president. They willingly threw democracy away to prove that point.

Amen to all this. Biden not stepping down soon enough is one of things from the article yesterday that made her lose. America did not want Hillary or Kamala. At this point I am not sure Michelle Obama could win.

Based on what just happened BD, I would say No, Michelle couldn’t have won it either.

I like Jamal Simmons. He’s a very intelligent and articulate young, Black man and professional. But he tends to be a little too “progressive” or liberal for me. And I don’t think this idea is a good idea at all.

In fact, I think it’s a very bad idea and I hope that Biden does NOT do it! 😕

I get this would be historic and all that. But why would Biden want to do it? He already gave up being president so she could run in his place. I do not see any reason he would do this at all.
