Presidential Campaigns Launch Election Season
The announcement of several new presidential campaigns could only mean one thing: Hip-Hip Hooray. Election 2024 is underway!
Politics :
As we’re all aware, Donald Trump was the first to announce he hopes to be handed the additional 4 years in The White House that he says was “stolen” from him. Additionally, President Biden also made it official that he will seek re-election in 2024. However, those are not the only presidential campaigns we can expect over the coming months.
On Wednesday, former VP Mike Pence will officially announce that he intends to run for the Republican nomination for President of the United States. The Pence announcement will come only 1 day after former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announced his plans to run, only a week after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his political ambitions for president, and less than 2 weeks after Sen. Tim Scott announced he hopes to be the first Black man to ever win the GOP nomination for president.
Former South Carolina governor and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley is running. So is the former governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson, Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, and our old conservative friend Larry Elder. North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is also expected to throw his hat in the ring within the coming days.
Although the number of Republican presidential campaigns is growing, none of the GOP pack appears to have the gravitas to take down Donald Trump. Additionally, Americans are already finding fault with several candidates.
“Pence has name recognition and far-right Christians love his push for a national ban on abortion, but he’s a villain in MAGA circles for failing to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 election,” Rolling Stone Magazine reminded voters.
A Monmouth University poll released last week showed Chris Christie’s favorability rating among Republican voters gravely underwhelming, with just 21% viewing him favorably and 47% viewing him unfavorably.
As for Tim Scott and his belief that he could become the first Black Republican nominee for president, GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz recently poured cold water all over those hopes and dreams.
Tim Scott “appears to have been teleported from another time,” Gaetz said of the 57-year-old Black conservative whose sole claim to fame is that he’s still a virgin and saving himself for marriage. “He’s the kind of Republican we ran in the 90s,” Gaetz added. Ouch!

On the Democratic side, the presidential campaigns have, for the most part, yielded to President Biden — with a few exceptions.
Poet Marianne Williamson (who ran a failed campaign for president in 2020) and anti-vaccine activist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (son of the late Robert F. Kennedy) have each announced their intentions to run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2024.
Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia said he is strongly considering running as a 3rd party candidate against the Democratic and Republican nominees. Interestingly, political observers are not taking his intentions seriously and only believe he might run simply to avoid an embarrassing loss in his re-election bid for US Senate.
Another dark horse recently announced his plans for the presidency: Dr. Cornel West.
West, who joined his friend and disgraced former talk-show host Tavis Smiley in publicly denigrating President Obama during his tenure every chance they could get, announced that he will run as a candidate for the People’s Party. Although no one appears to be taking his candidacy seriously, some believe he could act as a spoiler to President Biden winning re-election.

OK WASSUP! discusses Politics:
2024 presidential campaigns are already underway.
Yes indeed, the Repub side is looking pretty crowded these days. But we already know that, for most of these characters there is NO there there when it comes to his/her individual “presidential” campaign.
But you best believe each and every one of them has his/her own individual agenda, beginning with Chris Christie.
I believe the main reason he’s running is to take out Trump. Full Stop.
