It’s time for a Primary Election update. Let’s begin with the one-time Republican golden boy, Madison Cawthorn. Oh, how the mighty have fallen!
Politics :
After losing last week’s Republican primary, North Carolina Sen. Madison Cawthorn has become a bitter, bitter man. Instead of taking even an iota of the blame on himself, the 26-year-old Donald Trump protege’ has chosen to blame the Republican Party for his political foibles by claiming that he only lost because “the establishment turned their guns” on him.
“You know what? I’ll tell you, there has been a coordinated strike by really, kind of, the old establishment wing of our party,” Cawthorne said. “It’s a loser’s mentality. They realize the direction the country’s going in, the direction the population’s going in and if they want to pay off people from my past and bring up old pictures or things that happened years and years ago, I feel free to let them do that, I think the American people will see through that,” he added.
“The time for gentile politics as usual has come to an end,” Cawthorn continued in a statement against GOP forces. “It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered. We are coming,” he concluded.
Clearly, Cawthorn took a page from the Donald Trump handbook on how to pretend his loss was not really a loss. However, it took the Charlottesville Observer to bring the defeated young senator and his career-ending defeat back to reality.
“It began when he called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “a thug” and the Ukrainian government “evil.” It escalated when he went on a podcast and said his congressional colleagues participated in orgies and did key bumps of cocaine. From there he was charged with driving with a revoked license, was caught at an airport for the second time with a gun, accused of insider trading, while photos of him draped in lingerie on a cruise ship and a video of him naked in bed with another (male) person leaked.”
Yes, the GOP establishment wanted Cawthorn out. However, his loss was all his own doing.
DAVID PERDUE
After losing his Senate seat to Democrat Jon Ossof in 2021, former GOP senator David Perdue was hand-picked by Donald Trump to run against Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (as payback for Kemp refusing to “fix” Georgia’s election results in Trump’s favor back in 2020).
Too bad for Perdue (and for Trump), but Gov. Kemp was the ultimate victor. So, today’s Primary Election update is that Kemp will now face Democratic challenger Stacey Abrams in November.
Perhaps the most biting statement of this race came from former NJ governor and Donald Trump-flunkie, Chris Christie.
Christie, who backed Gov. Kemp and NOT Trump’s pick of Perdue, celebrated the win by announcing that voters handily rejected “the DJT Vendetta Tour.”
Ouch!
HERSCHEL WALKER
On Tuesday night, former NFL football star, political newcomer, and Donald Trump puppet Herschel Walker won the Georgia GOP primary for the US Senate — a win that now has many Republicans shaking in their boots.
Walker has a history of mental health and multiple personality issues, which led to repeated threats against his ex-wife’s life, exaggerated claims of financial success, and extremely unpredictable behavior among former business associates. So, it’s no wonder that Republicans fear Walker’s primary win is actually a win for Democrats in November.
National Republicans have openly fretted for weeks about the possibility of Trump’s personal endorsement of Walker turning into a win. Now, they’re absolutely up in arms over the results.
“I hope Herschel doesn’t win,” said 64-year-old Republican Doug Hollandsworth from Monroe, GA. “Democrats in November are going to shoot him down.”
“Walker cannot win in November. The baggage is too heavy; it’ll never happen,” said state agriculture commissioner Gary Black.
Oh well, they can all thank Donald Trump for sticking his nose in Georgia’s politics and selecting their party’s Senate candidate.
DR. OZ
The “Much-Too-Close-To-Call” Primary Election update in Pennsylvania involving David McCormick and Dr. Mehmet Oz has finally reached a conclusion. It’s headed to a recount.
As of Wednesday, the Donald Trump-endorsed Dr. Oz was leading Mr. McCormick by 902 votes. In Pennsylvania, such a razor-thin margin requires a recount — and that’s exactly where we’re headed. Or, in other words, it’s still anyone’s race to win/lose.
Stay tuned…

The latest Primary Election update.
Thanks for the updates DJ!
And you’re right, Tues. was not Donald’s day, despite the win by his guy Hershel, who as you rightly point out has TONS of baggage. But remember, he running as a Repub which means, while the Repub establishment thinks he’s a disaster, to the typical Repub voter these days, thinks he’s great!
So I hope and pray the Dems now understand do NOT take these dangerous, patently unfit Repub charlatans for play!
