PRINCE ALBERT TAKES A PRINCESS
After nearly 30 years, the glitzy and glamorous principality of Monaco finally has a new princess.
On Saturday, Prince Albert II married South African beauty Charlene Wittstock, in both a civil and religious ceremony in Monte Carlo.
Rumors of incompatibility between the two brought about predictions that the bride-to-be would leave the prince standing at the alter. But that was certainly not the case, and the bride even wept as the ceremony and title bequeathed to her became somewhat overwhelming.
Monaco has not had a princess since Grace Kelly, the Hollywood beauty who wed Albert’s late father, Prince Rainier III, in 1956 and had three children with him before dying in a car crash in 1982.
