During their early days as Princess Diana’s gleeful young sons, Prince William and Prince Harry enjoyed a brotherly bond that made them thick as thieves. Now, reports out of England are that the royal brothers are embroiled in a major feud that’s causing chaos inside Buckingham Palace.

When Prince William, heir to the British throne, dated Kate Middleton for 8 years before marrying her, Prince Harry was supportive of his brother and welcoming of Kate into the royal family. However, when Prince Harry dated Meghan Markle for 2 years before marrying her, reports are that William told Harry he was “moving too fast” and that he needed to “slow down.” Additionally, Kate and Meghan clashed from the very beginning of their relationship and the 2 sisters-in-law do not get along to this day.
Prince Harry took a ton of backlash from the public for bringing a biracial woman into the royal family. Now, he’s seemingly receiving pushback from his own brother, the future King of England.
Could it be that William and Kate don’t approve of Harry’s choice of bride?
Initially, the 2 princes and their wives lived together on the grounds of Kensington Palace. However, the royal relationship deteriorated so much that Prince Harry and Meghan moved out and took up residence at Frogmore Cottage at Windsor.
During the royal family’s Christmas celebration, Prince Charles put his foot down and demanded that Kate and Meghan end their feud immediately — a move that initially seemed successful. Then, Duchess Kate skipped Duchess Meghan’s baby shower, so Harry and Meghan opted not to attend Kate’s birthday party. Their noticeable distance during Easter Sunday church services earlier this week was a tale-tell sign that the relationship remains frayed. However, a recent Instagram post from Prince William honoring the Queen on her 93rd birthday with a photo of all the royals MINUS Meghan was proof positive that all is not well inside the royal family.
Now, Fox News is reporting that William and Kate are so done with Harry and Meghan and concerned that the 2 might upstage them, they have asked the Queen to ship the prince and his biracial wife off to Africa to be “as far away [from them] as possible.”
AFRICA??? Hmmm…
“There have been various ideas floated for them to take on a job abroad, such as governor-general of Australia or Canada, wherever,” a palace source told The Sunday Times of London. “The trouble is that you effectively set them up as king and queen of a whole separate country, and 24-hour media means that Australia is not as far away as it used to be.”
In a report from earlier this week, David Manning — the former British ambassador to the US and special adviser on international affairs to Prince Harry — has proposed a plan for Harry and Meghan to take on a more “international position” that could build on their work for the Commonwealth. With 19 Commonwealth nations in Africa, including South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, and Ghana, the royal husband and wife could find something worthwhile to do on the continent while being as far away from William and Kate as possible.
According to CNN, William, the Duke of Cambridge, issued a statement saying he would be supportive of his brother in whatever projects he undertakes, as he always has been.
For as close as William and Harry were throughout their childhoods and for being each other’s strength following the tragic death of their mother, it’s almost unfathomable to see 2 wives drive a wedge between the 2 beloved brothers.
My heart has gone out to these two brothers since the death of their mother (while fleeing the paparazzi) in 1997. I know first-hand what it is to lose your mother. But to lose her when they were so young…and to have ALL of that play out on a global stage under the spotlights of the entire world!?! Lord. I just cannot imagine. The British tabloids has always been utterly ruthless towards Prince Charles, Princess Diana and Camilla. But they’ve given Prince William and Prince Harry no peace either. For years Harry’s love for Africa and the African people was widely reported. So him falling in love with, and marrying, biracial woman came as NO surprise to me at all.
