Quantas Flight From Hell
We’ve all been on horrifying flights that we wished would end sooner than later. But when you hear of this flight from hell, you’ll never complain about flying again.
On a recent Qantas Airlines flight from Santiago, Chile to Sydney, Australia, a strange stomach bug rapidly overtook 26 passengers, causing them to completely lose control of their bowels for the entire 13 hour flight. To be clear, the infected passengers weren’t just stricken with diarrhea, but were also vomiting uncontrollably.
The Boeing 747-400 was only equipped with 7 toilets, which meant the infirmed passengers had to play a delicate game of “musical chairs” just to get their turn at the toilet. The jetliner was predominately over water for most of the flight, which prevented the pilot from making an emergency landing and required everyone on board to surrender to the situation.
According to passenger Lisa McCormick, the 26 passengers “unfortunately were rather sick for the whole entire flight. What a terrible way to end their holiday”.
“It just gradually wore through them all as the flight wore on, and it was 13 hours so it was a very long flight for them,” she added.
Once the flight finally landed in Australia, 16 passengers were rushed to hospital, and 3 of them were so sick they needed to be transported on a stretcher.
Not only was the flight unbearable for the 26 ill passengers, but the stench of sickness in the recycled air for 13 continuous hours was also no party everyone else onboard.
