Current Events –
Racist Nevada Rancher Embarrasses Fox News Host

It’s a beautiful day in America when Fox News has to backpedal for anything.  But that’s EXACTLY what happened last week.  Read on…

Current Events
Last week, Faux Fox host Sean Hannity got into a verbal tiff with “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart over an old geezer in Nevada named Cliven Bundy.  Apparently, Bundy has allowed his cattle to graze on publicly owned land for nearly 2 decades.  Despite numerous notices and warnings, Bundy has refused to pay the government millions of dollars in fees that he owes — the same fees anyone doing the same would owe. When the feds threatened to send authorities in to remove Bundy and his cattle from the land, Bundy became the pet-project of Fox News and the poster boy for conservatism.

Sean Hannity took up Bundy’s “cause” and sided with him, saying that the old westerner should be left alone since he personally doesn’t recognize the federal government as legitimate (even though he frequently rides a horse while carrying an American flag. Hmmm…) and therefore should not have to pay them a dime.  Hannity, who has been a staunch supporter in the past of the founding fathers, the U.S. constitution and adhering to the law, somehow magically forgot that Bundy was breaking the law that millions of the rest of us have to follow.  The story on Fox went viral, prompting militia groups to grab up arms and automatic weapons and race to Bundy’s aid.

Dozens showed up at Bundy’s grazing spot, armed and ready to fight the U.S. government off and allow this old westerner to continue to break the law.  That is when Jon Stewart stepped in to make light of Hannity’s hypocrisy.  Well…old Sean didn’t quite like that.

The next day, Hannity took to the airwaves to lambast Stewart for daring to question him and his support of a true American such as Cliven Bundy.  Hannity even went on to further reiterate his support of the now famous conservative fold hero Bundy and how he should have every right to break federal law whenever he chooses.  This is when things got good…

So grateful that Hannity and Fox News made him famous and caused every crazy conservative with a shotgun to rush to his side for the government shootout they’ve been waiting a lifetime for, Bundy went on national television and for some odd reason said:

“I’ve often wondered, are blacks better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Bundy went on to say he was driving by a public-housing project in North Las Vegas and seeing “at least a half-dozen (black) people sitting on the porch, they didn’t have nothing to do.”

“Because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do? They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton.”

BINGO!  CHECKMATE!  GAME OVER!

Not only was Bundy a crazy conservative who somehow believed he was above the law, but he was also a flaming racist who believes blacks are better off as cotton-picking slaves!

Realizing he had picked the wrong cause to prop up, an embarrassed Hannity took to the airwaves the next day to attempt a backpedal on Bundy and to chastise him for his old school racism. However, the damage was already done and laughingstock Sean Hannity and Fox News (once again) looked like fools. Who would’ve thunk it, but Jon Stewart got the last laugh!

"….the damage was already done and laughingstock Sean Hannity and Fox News (once again) looked like fools. Who would've thunk it…"

Lol. Welp umm…anybody who's even slightly aware of Faux Noise and Sean Hannity, in particular.

It's what they do. 24/7. 365 days a year….smh.

Jack

Obviously, Bundy is a crank. But he's not alone (as evidenced by Sean Hannity's comments). Not only are these views shared on the survivalist fringe of American life, but they're fairly common within the conservative movement. It is a bit disconcerting.

Clyde

Bundy CLAIMS to be a proud American, but he rejects the authority of the government and ignores the courts decisions. He’s a domestic terrorist, and so are his followers. Sorry but honesty sometimes stings hard, even for Fox "News" and Hannity.

Douglass

They want nobody to stand with Bundy so they can finally remove the trespassing cattle from the 600,000 acres of land he doesn’t own. It is just that simple.

Mr. BD

This guy is just a old crackpot a racist and a squatter. Stop breaking the law and pulling every crazy person in America with you. I like how John Stewart handled it. Shut Fox News right up.

Steven

That was one hell of an intellectual whooping Jon Stewart gave to Sean Hannity.

Powell

As usual Jon Stewart hits the nail on the head.

Levi

I would not result to name calling, Jack. Part of being an American is the right to speak out against your government. Bundy, Hannity and Stewart are all justified to speak on the issue, regardless of your personal opinions.
