One part of me thinks if there are illegal people here they should pay the consequence. But another part of me says if there are people who are causing no trouble and were here for a lot of years they should be able to stay. I have to admit I am so against anything Trump does that it is probably clouding my judgement.

Is the Trump raid truly necessary for a safer and more secure America? or is it overkill in its targeting of non-threatening undocumented immigrants — some of whom may have lived in the US for most of their lives? [….]

Um..Yes. ….and Yes.

Certainly, I don't have a problem with deporting undocumented immigrants who are criminals. In fact, it's been well reported that immigration groups "often" referred to Pres. Obama as the "Deporter-in-Chief" for having deported "more people than any other President."

Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS): "Obama Has Deported More People Than Any Other President"

Excerpt:
Between 2009 and 2015 his administration has removed more than 2.5 million people through immigration orders, which doesn’t include the number of people who "self-deported" or were turned away and/or returned to their home country at the border by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

According to governmental data, the Obama administration has deported more people than any other president's administration in history. In fact, they have deported more than the sum of all the presidents of the 20th century. President George W. Bush's administration deported just over two million during his time in office.

President Obama directed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to focus on criminals, not families, during his November 2014 executive action on immigration. […]

But clearly the raids are also targeting undocumented immigrants who are NOT now -nor have they ever been -criminals; even those who have been here most of their lives. And we know the deal. The "King of Chaos" strikes again, exploiting the bigotry and FEARS of (mostly) Old White voters who feel they're "losing" their country to Brown and Black folks. .
