RAISE Act Creates Immigration Merit System
- Pass Trump's test to be admitted into the USA
Donald Trump wants to implement the RAISE Act in America. Here’s why you need to what that is and what it might mean for you.
Current Events
The RAISE Act stands for the Reforming American Immigration for Strong Employment Act, and is a new”merit-based” screening process that Trump wants to install to weed out certain immigrants from coming into the US. Apparently, “The Donald” no longer wants to keep only Mexicans and Muslims out. He now wants to reduce the number of people allowed to legally immigrate to America altogether via a rather unique set of special requirements.
According to Time Magazine, the RAISE Act would utilize a selection process based on an applicant’s age, education, financial investments, and ability to speak English. If the applicant is coming to America with a job offer, their admittance (or not) would be based on the amount of their specific job salary (sorry, poor people).
Wait, there’s more…
The RAISE Act favors people between the ages of 26 and 30 with a high English proficiency. Oh, and a doctorate would also work in one’s favor. Applicants would need a collective score of at least 30 points to be eligible to apply for a visa under the Republican backed proposal. Those with the highest number of points would go to the front of the line to receive visas. A score of 29 or less would automatically mean you win the booby prize. Or, in other words, unpack your bags because you ain’t getting in!
Trump has even included a special provision for those who have been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or won an Olympic medal (which provides an automatic 25 point bonus from the start). Since most middle-income Americans don’t have family members who are recipients of such honors or are independently wealthy in their homelands, Grandma and Grandpa may not be leaving the old country to come and live with you after all.

[The RAISE Act’s] provisions reflect the shameful agenda of nativists and white nationalists who fear the growing diversity of our country. – Heidi Beirich, Intelligence Project Director

Current Events
The bill was introduced by Republican Senators David Perdue of Georgia and Tom Cotton of Arkansas and has already been highly endorsed by Trump (big surprise). However, most congressmen consider the very concept of RAISE so abhorrent, it hasn’t a chance in hell of ever seeing the light of day.
Still, in an effort to preserve his promise to his supporters to keep all of the “undesirables” out, Trump plans to press on in favor of the proposed bill.

Yep. Trump and Repubs (like Senators Purdue and Cotton) proving once again that Fear of, and hatred towards, “Others” is a powerful motivator.
I took that so-called “test” and No I would not be allowed into the U.S. based on that test.
Suffice it to say, that “test” is a disgraceful joke. No doubt, it’s the creation of “NOT too bright” juvenile-thinking adults who clearly lack the intellectual wherewithal to think more seriously about such matters.
Honestly, the indelible black stain of this presidency will stay with Us (America) for years, maybe even decades, to come (sigh).
